I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to the staff, children and their families for the most amazing send off today. I’m actually broken and have cried so many times. The children performed the most incredible poem written about me this afternoon and I’ve read every single message from each of them in the scrap book that was also handmade. Your kindness and generosity has blown me away and I want to thank everyone for their kind messages and gifts. Although it’s been a day of strange weather it was lovely that a rainbow appeared at the very end of the day - as one person said, “Mrs Kelley-Day you’re leaving Tymberwood on the rainbow.”

You’re an amazing community and I’ll be wearing my “Tymberwood leavers hoodie” with pride.

If you missed my letter on ParentMail please see the photograph below.

Signing out one final time!

💕Mrs Kelley-Day 🦄

Year 2 had a great morning meeting Vaudeville, Saladin, Hawthorne, Burdock, Leroy and Battenburg (aka Batman) from Lower Bush Alpacas. Some staff snuck out for a cheeky visit and Miss Masters even got a kiss! 🤣

Last week in PE, Year 5 looked at different ways to add dance moves into a routine. Here are a couple of examples of our final performance.

Red Nose Day - Friday 15th March

Dear Tymberwood Families,

We apologise for the last minute email but we have had lots of queries from parents regarding Red Nose Day.

Please feel free to send your child to school with a red nose on, allow them to wear something red or non-uniform on Friday 15th March. However, please don’t worry if your child does not want to join in. Tomorrow we will activate an optional fundraising ParentMail payment should you wish to contribute but there is no expectation to do so.

We will always apologise and say sorry if we forget something and this is a clear example of this - sorry.

Beatrix Potter class are really enjoying their topic 'Down on the Farm.' This week we read the story 'The Little Red Hen.' We are able to retell the story very well. We have created hen collages on the creative table and used puppets to retell the story. We have also been using the key words tall, short and long in Maths and are able to compare objects well.

Year 6 Celebrating World Book Day! We thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a Matilda themed dance workshop and a drawing challenge based on the book - Charlie McGrew and the Horse That He Drew By Rob Biddulph

Wow! What an amazing day all of the children (and staff!) had for World Book Day. It was so lovely to see them dressed up as their favourite book characters and to hear them talking about their favourite books was just fantastic. We had such a difficult time judging the wooden spoon competition as they were all wonderful and all deserved to win! The children who have had their musical theatre dance workshops had so much fun. Year 1 and 2 learned a dance from Matilda and Reception and Nursery performed a few different songs. Thank you parents/carers and family members for all of your help and support with costumes and decorating spoons. It really helped our children to have a memorable day , , ,

Reception class have been very busy over the last couple of weeks! We have made our own pizzas, thinking about the ingredients and how to order, write and follow instructions. We have been asking our friends about their favourite colours and foods to create pictograms and tally charts in maths. We have also been learning about the life cycle of a chicks and watched an egg hatch inside the incubator. We have been watching the chicks get bigger and fluffier every day!

One more sleep until World Book Day. We have such an exciting day planned for all the children tomorrow based around books! We are looking forward to seeing you all in your book related costumes tomorrow. Remember that Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children have musical theatre workshops tomorrow and need to wear trainers/shoes that they can dance in. Years 3-6 have their musical theatre workshops on Friday and can wear trainers to school on Friday. , , ,

Good luck to all our Year 6 pupils who will be finding out their secondary school placements today!

Following the excitement, don't forget to accept the place, following the instructions given in the email; if you don't accept it by the given date, you will lose the space!

If you are not happy with the offer, we still highly recommend you accept it as this makes sure your child has a place for September at a local school. Accepting your offer will not harm your case if you decide to appeal. You can then make contact with your preferred school(s) to add your name to their waiting list.

If, for any reason, you would like to discuss your offer and the next steps, Miss Waterworth will be available to do so next week. Please make contact via the school office or in person after school.

In Science, the Year One children have been learning about different types of materials. As part of this, we identified and sorted natural and human-made materials. Our challenge activity for our learning celebration was to choose either only natural materials or only human-made materials and create a collage. We had lots of fun sharing our learning and creating pictures with our family members. , ,

The reception children have really enjoyed the the start of term 4 and have been exploring our new learning theme 'Down at the bottom of the garden'. They have been learning about plants and what they need to grow. We have also been planting beans just like Jack from our story this week Jack and the beanstalk.

Last term, Year 6's Design and Technology unit was called "Hats Off To You!" In this unit, they learned the term, 'milliner,' and used it to talk about different hat designers. They researched different styles of hats and how their designs suited their purpose. They then designed their own hats and brought these to life using recyclable materials. The children worked really independently, overcoming lots of obstacles by refining and changing their plans, and we are very proud of the finished products they created!

We have also enjoyed the outdoors where we have been creating hoof prints using potatoes and paint as well as loving the bikes!
