🌟 PSHE in Action at Copperfield Academy! 🌟

These photos perfectly capture how our PSHE curriculum comes to life every single day. During playtime, children of all ages can be seen working together, supporting one another, and showing genuine kindness in their interactions. 💛

Whether they’re playing cooperative games, solving problems as a team, caring for their environment or simply being great friends, the values we teach in the classroom shine through so naturally in their play.

These everyday moments show our pupils growing in confidence, responsibility and positive relationships—skills that strengthen our whole school community and make us proud every day. 🌈🤝

✨ British Science Week 2026 at Copperfield Academy! 🔬🌟

What an incredible week of curiosity and discovery! Our children threw themselves into British Science Week with amazing enthusiasm, asking big questions, testing out ideas and getting hands‑on with all sorts of investigations.

From exploring the probability of buttered toast landing face‑down, to creating recyclable inventions, floating paper boats and even flying models, our budding scientists were unstoppable.

Our Early Years pupils joined the fun too, designing bridges strong enough for their toy animals to cross—brilliant teamwork from our youngest learners! 🧠💡

We’re so proud to continue the high‑quality science teaching and enquiry that helped us achieve our Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM).

A huge well done to everyone for making it a fantastic week full of curiosity, creativity and scientific thinking across the whole school! 🌈🔍

👮‍♂️💙 Mini Cadets Making Us Proud! 💙👮‍♀️

Today our amazing Mini Cadets worked hand‑in‑hand with our local PCSOs to deliver important anti‑bullying messages to every class in the school; and they were absolutely fantastic!

They spoke confidently, explained clearly, and showed real leadership as they helped spread the message that kindness, respect, and standing up for others make our school a safer and happier place.

We couldn’t be more proud of their teamwork, maturity, and dedication. 🌟

Well done, Mini Cadets — you represented your school brilliantly! 👏💛

🧪🌍 British Science Week in Year 6! 🌍🧪

As part of British Science Week, Year 6 explored the BIG question: “How can we recycle and reuse paper?”

We began by learning about the paper‑recycling process, then rolled up our sleeves and tried it ourselves! The children:
♻️ Collected waste paper from our recycling
✂️ Shredded it into tiny pieces
💧 Soaked it in warm water to create pulp

🌿 Rolled out the pulp and added leaves and petals for decoration
The results were beautiful pieces of handmade, decorative paper — and a brilliant reminder of how we can reuse everyday materials in a creative and sustainable way.

Such a fun and hands‑on way to celebrate science! 🌟📄💚

This week, we’ve been exploring Recycling, Reusing and Reducing; all the small things we can do to help keep our world a beautiful place for everyone. 💚

Our learners worked together to create some fantastic posters showing others how they can make a difference. We’ve proudly displayed them all around the school to spread the message! 🌱✨

So proud of their creativity and passion for helping the planet! 🌼💪

🌟 What a BUS‑y week we’ve had in Nursery! 🌟

This week we’ve been learning all about buses, and the children have absolutely loved it! We’ve been working hard on our fine motor skills by making our own passengers to go on the bus and using tweezers to decorate vehicles with pom‑poms – talk about wheel‑y good fun!

But the highlight of our week had to be our amazing treat… we got to sit on a REAL bus! The children were so excited and couldn’t believe they were actually climbing aboard. 🚍✨

Then, just when we thought our week couldn’t get any more exciting, Fred the Frog hopped in for some oral blending in Phonics. He asked us to visit his friends in the school pond – he said it would really help us “leap” forward with our learning! 🐸💚

After all these adventures, we are well and truly exhausted but what a fabulous week it’s been!

📚 This Week in History – Year 4 🏰

This week, Year 4 have been diving into the life of King Alfred and exploring why he is remembered as Alfred the Great. We discovered the incredible things he achieved during the Anglo‑Saxon era and how he worked to protect and support his people.

One of the most inspiring things we learned was that education was extremely important to him, he wanted everyone to learn to read and write, helping to shape the foundations of learning that we benefit from today.

The children sorted key facts about his rule into positive and negative statements before deciding that overall, he was a strong and effective ruler. They then wrote their own paragraphs using evidence to explain why they believe King Alfred truly earned the title “the Great.”

A fantastic week of historical thinking and brilliant reasoning from Year 4! 👏📖🌟

🚀✨ Year 5 Went Out of This World This Week! ✨🚀

Our brilliant Year 5 scientists took their learning to infinity and beyond as they explored how the planets orbit the Sun! ☀️🪐

Working in teams, the children created their very own human orrery, acting out the movements of different planets to discover how each one travels around the Sun. There was movement, teamwork, laughter, and lots of scientific thinking!

What a fantastic way to bring space learning to life. 🌍🌙

Well done, Year 5, you absolutely shone! 💫

🌟 What an amazing World Book Day we’ve had! 🌟

A huge THANK YOU to all our wonderful families for making today so special. The children looked absolutely incredible in their World Book Day outfits, from classic characters to creative twists, the playground was bursting with colour, imagination and excitement! 📚✨

We were thrilled to see so many parents and carers join us for the Whole School World Book Day Parade. We hope you enjoyed the party atmosphere, the free food, and of course watching the children proudly parade their costumes around the school playgrounds. Your support truly brings our celebrations to life! 💙

After the parade, the children had a fantastic time taking part in book‑sharing activities with their peers. And the pop‑up book shop was a huge hit, the children loved it!

What a brilliant day, enjoyed by everyone in our wonderful school community.

Thank you for helping us celebrate the magic of reading! 🌈📖
