If your little one wants to hear the same story, play the same game or return to the same activity over and over, there’s a good reason for it.

Young children learn through repetition. Coming back to something familiar gives them the time to really explore it, notice new details and see what they can do each time.

It’s also a lovely way for children to take the lead in their own learning. They can decide when they’re ready to try something differently, add a new idea or move on to something else.

So, if they ask for the same book again tonight, don’t be surprised. They might just be getting something new from it all over again!

At Bronte, we love activities that let children get stuck in and explore things for themselves. Tuff trays are perfect for this, giving children the freedom to touch, scoop, pour, mix, create and investigate.

A simple tray can quickly turn into all sorts of things, a sensory adventure, a pretend world, a little investigation or a game that the children have invented themselves.

It’s lovely to watch their imaginations take over as they chat, experiment, make choices and work things out along the way.

And, of course, a little bit of mess is all part of the fun!

Every day at Bronte Nursery brings something a little different!

From painting and exploring colour to tuff tray activities and imaginative play, our children have plenty of opportunities to follow their interests, get creative and try something new.

Sometimes it’s about experimenting, sometimes it’s about making up a story, and sometimes it’s simply enjoying time to play with friends. These everyday moments are all part of life at nursery.

At Bronte Nursery, we believe some of the best learning happens when children are given the time and space to have a go for themselves.

Whether they’re washing their hands, pouring a drink, brushing their teeth or working things out through play, these everyday experiences give children the opportunity to practise new skills, solve little problems and keep trying when something doesn’t quite go to plan.

It’s not about getting everything right first time. It’s about having a go, learning from the experience and discovering what they can do.

These small moments can make a big difference, helping children become curious, resilient learners who enjoy finding things out for themselves.

You’re never too young for a good story!

Children don’t need to be able to read the words themselves to enjoy everything a book has to offer. Sharing stories gives little ones the chance to listen, look, wonder and discover.

That’s why interactive books, like flap books, are such a lovely choice for little ones. They can get involved by lifting, looking, finding and guessing, turning storytime into something they can actively explore.

These simple moments help children build a positive relationship with books from the very beginning, while giving their imaginations plenty of room to wander.

Little conversations can make a big difference.

Language development happens all around us, every day. From chatting over breakfast and singing favourite songs to sharing a story or talking about what you can see on a walk, everyday moments are full of opportunities to build language and communication skills.

The most important thing is to keep it natural and enjoyable, follow your child’s interests, listen to what they have to say and give them plenty of time to respond.

It’s often those simple, everyday interactions that help little voices grow!

Mealtimes are a special part of the day at Bronte, giving children the chance to enjoy freshly prepared food, discover new flavours and learn through everyday experiences.

Our dedicated kitchen team prepares nutritious, varied meals using quality ingredients wherever possible, with seasonal menus that help children explore different tastes and enjoy a positive relationship with food.

From chatting about ingredients to taking part in our ‘Cook with the Cook’ sessions, children have lots of opportunities to get involved, ask questions and discover more about the food they eat.

We love seeing mealtimes become moments of connection, curiosity and enjoyment, all while sharing delicious food together!

Meet Jessica, our SENCO at Bronte Nursery.

At Bronte, we believe in working together to understand every child and create an environment where they feel confident, included and valued.

As our Special Educational Needs Coordinator, Jessica works closely with children, families and our nursery team to help identify individual needs, guide practitioners and put personalised support in place where needed. She also works alongside external professionals when appropriate, always keeping families involved throughout the process.

Whether you have a question, would like some advice or simply want to chat about your child’s development, Jessica is always happy to help.
