πŸ’™ An Update from Team Aspire Pandas πŸ’™

Sadly, Team Aspire Pandas have had to end their challenge earlier than planned.
One of the wonderful swimmers has become unwell, and the team's priority is getting her home safely so she can receive the medical attention she needs. While everyone is naturally disappointed, nothing is more important than the health and wellbeing of the team.

We know so many of you have been cheering them on through the night and this morning, and Miss Honey is incredibly grateful for all of your support, encouragement, and kind messages.

Although today wasn't the ending we had hoped for, this isn't the end of the Aspire Pandas' story. Once everyone is well again, the team will regroup, recover, and come back stronger to take on the challenge another day. πŸΌπŸ’™

For now, we're asking everyone to keep Miss Honey’s team mate and poorly swimmer in your thoughts and wishing her a speedy recovery!

πŸŒŠπŸ’™ GOOD LUCK, MISS HONEY! πŸ’™πŸŒŠThe entire Cecil Road Primary & Nursery School community is cheering on our wonderful Recept...

πŸŒŠπŸ’™ GOOD LUCK, MISS HONEY! πŸ’™πŸŒŠ

The entire Cecil Road Primary & Nursery School community is cheering on our wonderful Reception teacher, Miss Honey, as she takes on one of the world's toughest endurance challenges!
✨ At 1:00am this morning, Miss Honey and her incredible Team Aspire Pandas set off to swim the English Channel as a relay team in support of Aspire, a charity that helps people living with spinal cord injuries rebuild their lives and regain independence.
Swimming the Channel is no easy feat – they'll face cold water, strong tides, busy shipping lanes and a long, demanding journey. Their determination, courage and teamwork are truly inspiring.
We are all so incredibly proud of Miss Honey for taking on this amazing challenge to make a difference for others. ❀️
Please join us in wishing Miss Honey and the whole Team Aspire Pandas the very best of luck. We know you'll all be behind her every stroke of the way!
If you'd like to support Miss Honey and her team, please consider donating to this fantastic cause.

Spending time outdoors can play an important role in children’s wellbeing, learning, confidence and development.

However, busy routines, safety concerns and limited access to outdoor space can make it harder for families, schools and carers to prioritise time in nature.

Our latest guide shares simple, practical ideas to help children reconnect with the natural world, including:
β€’ Noticing wildlife during everyday routines
β€’ Taking familiar activities outside
β€’ Creating mini adventures
β€’ Growing plants or building nature at home
β€’ Using technology to identify birdsong, insects and wildlife
β€’ Supporting older children with independence and sensible risk-taking

With realistic ideas for all ages, the guide helps make outdoor time feel accessible, enjoyable and worthwhile.

To Our Wonderful Year 6 Leavers

Today we stand with hearts so full,
Of pride, of joy, and memories beautiful.
The laughter shared, the lessons learned,
The friendships made, the dreams you've earned.

From tiny steps through Cecil's Nursery gate,
You've grown into young people, kind and great.
With curious minds and caring hearts,
Each one of you a work of art.

You've faced each challenge, climbed each hill,
With courage, kindness, strength, and will.
You've shown us all what you can be,
The very best of Cecilness for all to see.

As you leave these classrooms today,
New adventures wait along your way.
Carry with you all you've learned,
And all the confidence you've earned.

Remember, wherever life may lead,
Be thoughtful in every word and deed.
Be brave enough to chase each dream,
And kinder than the world may seem.

Though uniforms may change, and schools be new,
A part of Cecil will stay with you.
That spark of hope, that helping hand,
The courage always to take a stand.

We know you'll shine, we'll watch with pride,
With Cecilness forever by your side.
So spread your wings, be bold, be trueβ€”
The future is waiting just for you.

Well done on everything you have achieved.
You have made us proud every single day.
Go forward with confidence, believe in yourselves,
And never forget that you will always be a cherished part of the Cecil Road family.

With love, pride, and every good wish for the future,

Your Cecil Road Primary and Nursery School
Family
