Hot News!!

The (still Free) fantastic OXYL8 LEV App has just been updated to include an automated Banchmarking Calculator (in Beta form).

If you already have the App installed it should auto update when next opened.

As you will see it is in "Beta" form at the moment which means we would welcome your feedbacks on how it works for you and any improvements you'd like. (Nore - we have already noted the spelling error 'Phases' instead of 'Phrases :-) ). The App Dev is working on that one.

While you are reviewing the new version - do drop us a note of any 'add-on bars' for additional LEV functionality/calculations you'd like to see and we'll put them on the list :-)

SCOTLAND REGIONAL BOHS PRESIDENT-ELECT MEETING. Great day out yesterday to hear Parmjit Gahir announce the Theme and Priorities for his year as President of BOHS.

"Back to Basics Embracing the Future" is both an exciting and (dare I say it) very pertinent Theme for the coming year, Only BOHS meeting I've been to in a while where we had laughter and wise-cracks in amongst the serious stuff. Very enjoyable.

Then the infamous Kevin Bampton with his precision legal surgeon scalpel .... cut things to the bone on the effectiveness of the HSW Act. Who would have considered that it is not as good as we thought?? Robens will be turning in his grave. And that's without his evisceration of (almost) all other H&S Regulations. Entertaining and thought provoking.

If you get the chance - do try to get along to this roadshow as it travels around the regions. Well worth it.

Free one-day LEV conferences on "Preparing for CoC(Control)"

OXYL8 are delighted to announce our sponsorship of a series of (Free!) LEV mini-conferences focused on the award of CoC(Control).

The first one on 9th February will take place at the Hilton Hotel, Leicester.

It is now almost full but there are 2 others planned later in the year for 28th June and 6th Sept at the same venue.

On hand to give short presentations (and to answer questions on CoC) will be:-

Kevin Bampton, Chief Exec, BOHS
David Towler, HM Principal Specialist Inspector, HSE
Parmjit Gahir, Head of Occ Hygiene, Element
Bill Cassells, OXYL8

Several exsiting CoC(Control) holders will also be present to answer questions on their experiences of the application process.

The conference will cover the requirements and the application process for gaining CoC(Control). It will also explain the workings and structure of the new Professional Standards Register for Occupational Hygieniests and associated Specialists (of which LEV is one). Holders of CoC(Control) are automatically eligible for inclusion in the PSR.

In addition to the focused presentations there will also be a panel session where delegates can experience elements of a mock "Professional Interview" - often mistakenly called an "oral exam" 🙁.

This valuable exercise will allow delegates to gain some experience in answering typical lines of questioning on CoC topics. Great opportunity to get some exposure to the interview style and content.

Fantastic EXAM Successes! Just had results in for three recent sets of exams; W201, P600 and P601 ......... drum roll ....100% pass by delegates in all three :-) Hang the bunting! :-) Well done to all the delegates. You see that hard work (and some late night banter) does pay off :-)
