✨Some snaps of a fantastic rehearsal day today at OMG 🎶
Our first rehearsal of the Summer Term kicked off in style, and it was a special one - two brand new violin quartets came together for the very first time (names coming soon… 👀).
We can’t wait to see how they grow!
A huge thank you to Rachel Cooper for joining us and working with our combined Quavers and Semiquavers groups - such a fun session. Alongside lots of brilliant playing, our young musicians also got creative, composing their own short pieces 🎻📝
And a big shoutout to Alfred, who was assisting with the beginner groups, and even created accompaniments to bring those compositions to life—so impressive!
Thank you as always to Rowan and Erin for their support today. Looking forward to our next rehearsal next month! 💛

This week Vicky and Lucas went to hear Nicola Benedetti performing the Elgar Violin Concerto with the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra. They were thrilled to meet Nicky at the interval and have their violin lesson notebooks signed by her, with some words of encouragement.
Vicky summed up the experience saying, “I’m so glad I met Nicky! She has so much passion and energy, and I feel honored to have met her. She played amazingly, I left feeling so inspired.”
Thank you Nicky for continually inspiring young musicians everywhere! 🩷

🌟Huge congratulations to Martha who has achieved a distinction in her Grade 1 ABRSM exam.
Martha works so hard and with such focus, determination and care, and she always has a smile on her face (except when she’s really, really concentrating!).
A very well deserved first exam result and now onwards to a 1/4 size violin!🎻🎉

🎶What a fantastic Spring Concert🌸
We were so proud of all our young musicians for delivering such confident, expressive and high-quality performances – a true celebration of all their hard work this term.
A huge thank you to Rowan for the wonderful accompaniment as always, and to everyone who helped make the day run so smoothly behind the scenes.
We’ll see you next term! ☀️

13 years ago today… 🎶✨
On 17 March 2013, our young musicians stepped on stage for the very first time and gave their debut concert - and OMG was born.
What started as a small group of fabulous young people has grown into years of music, memories, and moments we’ll never forget.
Today, we’re feeling all the nostalgia as we look back at these photos from that very first concert day - the excitement and the beginning of something we could never have predicted 💛
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey over the past 13 years.
Here’s to many more! 🥳

🌟What a fantastic day at the Grantham Music Festival!
We’re so proud of all our young musicians who performed today. The standard of playing was brilliant and it was wonderful to see such a strong sense of camaraderie and encouragement as always between everyone taking part.
Festivals like this are as much about supporting one another and enjoying the music (and the mini eggs) as they are about performing and our players were such a joy to spend the day with.
A huge thank you to Rowan for accompanying so many performances throughout the day – your support makes such a difference.
Congratulations to every performer for your hard work, preparation and confidence on stage 👏 and huge thanks to the festival committee and adjudicator for organising such a welcoming and well-run event.
Finally, thank you to all the parents and families who supported the young musicians today – your encouragement behind the scenes does not go unnoticed!
A brilliant day of music-making all round - Congratulations everyone!🎻✨
