What a wonderful Autumn activity for the family 🍁🍂

This autumn, join us for one of nature's greatest transformations as you become the world's most famous caterpillar from Eric Carle's best-selling book The Very Hungry Caterpillar™ 🐛

Families can wriggle along the trail, follow the illustrated signs and spot the vibrant juicy fruits and tasty snacks hidden around the garden before emerging as a beautiful butterfly. Plus, discover accompanying games and activities inspired by this classic children’s tale.

Presented by the award-winning creator of interactive theatrical events, Bakehouse Factory, the trail is free with admission and runs from 26 September to 1 November.

You’ve all been finding out which primary school your little ones will be starting this September — such a big milestone! 🎒💛

To help make the transition a little easier (and a lot more fun!), we’ll be holding Reception class meet-ups during the summer holidays. It’s a great chance for children to meet new friends before their first day.

Majority of children get their preferred primary school 🏫

There are 6,479 children due to start primary and infant schools in Lincolnshire in September 2026.

Overall, 6,243 children (96.36%) have been offered a place at their first preference school. This remains consistent with recent years, with first preference offers recorded at 95.71% last year and 95.73% in 2024.

A further 195 children (3.01%) have been offered their second preference school, and 22 children (0.34%) their third preference. Just 19 children (0.29%) were unable to be offered a place at one of their preferred schools and have instead been allocated their closest school with a place available.

Parents who applied online will receive an email containing a secure link to their offer letter today (16 April 2026). Visit our website for further information: https://bit.ly/4mtkrnK

Offers were also posted today to those who applied by telephone or paper form.

Parents have until midnight on 20 May 2026 to lodge an appeal against a school's decision not to offer a place.
