After a few weeks of growing from seed, our lettuces are finally ready to eat! The children have thoroughly enjoyed every stage of the process — from planting and nurturing to growing and harvesting their own produce. We washed some of the lettuce and enjoyed it as a snack with oatcakes, and we’ll also be sending some home for you all to enjoy.

Our weekly gardening club provides wonderful learning opportunities while helping the children develop valuable skills for the future. Through gardening, the children are learning patience, responsibility, teamwork, communication, and how to care for living things. They are also developing an understanding of healthy eating, where food comes from, and the importance of looking after our environment.

The children had so much fun exploring numbers and bee-themed activities, counting games, sorting, matching, and creative crafts. We talked about the important role bees play in our world and practiced our numeracy skills through play and discovery. 💛🐝

The children have been busy exploring, creating, and letting their curiosity lead the way - making natural paper and even crafting their own paints from materials found in the garden 🎨🍃

It’s been wonderful to see their enthusiasm, teamwork, and confidence grow as they learn through hands-on experiences in the natural environment. We’re so proud of their creativity and adventurous spirit! 🌳💚

***JOB VACANCY***
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and experienced Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years Educator to join our dedicated team, working primarily in our baby room. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality care and education for children aged 0–2 years.

Key Responsibilities

Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for babies
Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework
Support children’s development, learning, and emotional wellbeing
Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
Carry out observations and maintain accurate records of children’s progress
Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery policies at all times
Assist with daily routines including feeding, changing, and sleep times
Requirements

Full and relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent)
Proven experience working in a baby room setting
Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A warm, patient, and caring nature
Desirable Skills

Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
Experience with children with additional needs
Knowledge of baby development milestones
Hours of work - 4 days per week Mon-Friday between the hours of 730-6pm

Salary: Dependent on age and qualification.
