Tigers🐯 and Penguins 🐧had a great day at the Mini-Olympics on Tuesday. We represented Barbados in the opening ceremony before taking part in lots of different sporting activities. We started off practicing some tennis skills before learning a dance for the closing ceremony. After this we took part in athletics activities and everyone loved having a go at the long jump! Before lunch we finished off learning some new skills playing boules. After lunch we had a go at playing squash and then wheelchair basketball before meeting and getting the autographs of some sporting stars! We all enjoyed a super day and were lucky to miss the hailstones!
Thank-you to inspire+ for once again organising a great day!

A special mention goes to our Bronze Young Ambassadors who during the day were awarded the 'Gold Young Ambassadors School Award' which recognises their commitment to their role in school. Well done to Matilda, Caleb, Henry and Chloe for being such positive role models in our school.

Year 1 are exploring craft in art this term and today we had a go at wool wrapping. They all did so well. Next week we are plaiting, threading and knotting.

Tigers and Penguins had a great day at Lincoln Castle last Monday to support their learning in history. Year 4 enjoyed handling artefacts and looking at an Anglo-Saxon burial site while Year 3 loved taking part in a Roman dig and learning how to be a part of the Roman Army. After lunch we all enjoyed a walk down Steep Hill and admired Lincoln Cathedral before visiting the gift shop. We all had a lovely day out.

Our value for the term is Creativity. We used our 'special Shine' on Friday to create artwork as a whole school. We loved putting our handprints on the tree - grown ups and children!

The school council have also been taking photos of the children last week showing 'Creativity' at breaktimes.

The School Council chose the winning designs for their poster competition at the end of last term. The posters were all about how we show respect for people around us. Well done everyone you all did a great job. 😀

A group of children from years 3 and 4 enjoyed taking part in the Cricket Festival this morning. They played lots of different games to develop their batting, throwing and coordination skills and had lots of fun whilst doing so! ⚾️

This week at 'Planting and Painting Club' the children made a fabulous job of making our driveway entrance pretty. They filled the tyre pots with compost and put in new plants, they now have a watering rota to take care of them, we can't wait to see the flowers grow!!🌷🌹🪻☀️🌦️

Our fantastic Cross Country Team did an amazing job in hot conditions last night at The Meres. What amazing resilience and endurance! Each race had about 80 children in from lots of other local schools. We had 2 medals for being in the top 3 - superb! A 5th place and altogether 7 children who came in the top 20 for their year group. We are all really proud of you.
Many thanks to inspire+ for organising the event and the parents who helped with transport and supported us all!

Wow! As a school community so far you have raised just over £1000 for the Marine Conservation UK Charity and for our bell tower project through the Community Litter Pick! What a fabulous effort! Please bring in any missing sponsor money as soon as possible!
Thank you everyone, for your support!
