The children in the pre-school room each chose a teacher to make a special card for and to bring big smiles and love to all ❤️Each child drew an individual picture and handed out their cards to the teachers around the room at nursery 😀

🥕 Healthy Eating Week at Littleleaps 🍓

This week the children have been busy exploring a wide range of fruits and vegetables in lots of exciting and hands on ways.

Here’s a little look at what we’ve been up to:
🌽 Fruit & Veg Tuff Trays – The children explored different colours, shapes and textures, using their senses to touch, smell and talk about what they noticed.
🍉 Taste Testing Opportunities – Everyone was encouraged to try new fruits and vegetables, sharing their thoughts on what was crunchy, juicy, sweet or sour.
🎨 Painting with Produce – Using fruit and vegetable prints, the children created colourful artwork while learning about where our food comes from.
🍕 Healthy Pizza Making – At Cooking Club in pre school, the children made their own healthy pizzas, choosing toppings and talking about balanced choices. They were so proud to enjoy their creations at snack time.
💬 Lots of Conversation – Throughout the week, we’ve had rich discussions about healthy choices, trying new foods, and how different foods help our bodies grow strong.

It’s been a fantastic week full of exploration, learning and tasting. We’re so proud of how confident the children have been in trying new things and talking about healthy eating.

🚦 Road Safety Week at Littleleaps 🛑
This week all of our rooms have been taking part in Road Safety Week, helping the children learn simple but important messages about keeping safe when out and about.
👶 Baby Room Our youngest children enjoyed a lovely walk today with their teachers in the pushchairs, looking at the world around them. They spotted cars, buses, road signs and listened to the sounds of the street.
🧸 Across the Nursery All rooms explored themed tuff trays linked to road safety. The children loved:
• Talking about zebra crossings and how we use them
• Exploring small world roads, cars and people
• Practising “stop” and “go” through play in the garden and through listening and attention games
• Singing a road safety song together
These activities helped the children understand ideas like stopping, waiting, looking and listening in a fun, hands on way.

Today the children have enjoyed celebrating 'Dinosaur Day'. They explored a range of themed tuff trays, digging, scooping, sorting and discovering dinosaurs while learning new dinosaur facts through play. Our preschoolers especially enjoyed using the tablets with staff support, practising their early technology skills as they searched for dinosaur names, sounds and pictures.

The children made their own dinosaur masks, experimented with paints to create colourful dinosaur patterns, and spent time drawing their favourite dinosaurs. We also watched a short dinosaur video and shared some lovely books together, helping the children build their knowledge and spark even more curiosity.

It’s been a fantastic day of imagination, learning and exploration.

Yesterday we had such a lovely time celebrating with you at nursery — singing Happy Birthday and giving you your gifts.

Thank you for everything you do and for always bringing so much kindness and positivity to the children and team.

Our toddlers enjoyed a lovely sensory exploration tray in the garden this morning, inspired by turtles ahead of Turtle Day tomorrow! 🐢🌿

The children explored different textures and props while joining in with the “Tiny Turtle” nursery rhyme. The activity was supported through modelled language to encourage communication, curiosity, and imaginative play. 💚
