This morning we welcomed one of our lovely parents, who brought along two very special helpers, to read the story Doctorsaurus — perfectly fitting in with her occupation!
The children really enjoyed the group reading from the family and loved getting the chance to look at real doctor equipment and ask questions.
Thank you for coming in to read with us and for supporting the National Year of Reading at preschool 📚🩺

Yesterday we met Rachael from the Marine Conservation Society and learned why it’s so important not to drop litter. 🌍♻️
We used litter pickers to collect rubbish and put it into special bags. Afterwards, we sorted and marked the litter on a chart to see the different types of rubbish we had found and what materials they were made from.
At the end, we weighed all the rubbish — we couldn’t believe how much we collected! A great hands-on lesson about looking after our environment and keeping our community clean. 💙

Last week at Forest School, we collected dandelions to make flatbread dough! 🌼 The children carefully picked off the petals and added them to the mixture, excited to see how they would taste.
After shaping the dough, we cooked the flatbreads over the fire and served them with a squeeze of honey 🍯🔥 They were a huge hit — everyone went back for seconds!
We finished the session with lots of fun parachute games and smiles all around 😊

We’ve noticed a lovely curiosity growing among the children as they explore life cycles 🐞
This week, we introduced some very special new friends – our ladybirds! The children are already so excited to care for them and observe how they change and grow through each stage of their life cycle. From tiny larvae to beautiful ladybirds, it’s a wonderful hands-on way to learn about nature.
We can’t wait to watch this journey together and see their excitement continue to grow 🌱

As part of our commitment to celebrating the National Year of Reading, we are continuing to invite members of our local community into preschool to share their important roles—and, most importantly, a story with the children 📚
Today, we were delighted to welcome a police officer to our setting. She kindly showed us her police car, explaining all about the important equipment she uses, and even demonstrated the flashing lights and loud sirens—which the children found very exciting!🚓
The children had a wonderful time trying on police uniforms, including hats and jackets, asking lots of thoughtful questions, and enjoying a story together.
Thank you so much for visiting us and providing the children with such a positive and memorable experience—we loved having you😊
