This morning Upper Pre School went on a bus journey around Grantham, the children were all very excited, they loved catching the bus at the bus station and travelling around looking at different parts of Grantham. The very kind bus driver allowed all the children to have a go at sitting in the bus drivers seat.
On their return the children had some snack at Morrisons cafe before walking back to Pre School π

Upper Pre School have been bringing in their Easter bonnets they have made at home ready to take part in the Easter bonnet parades this week!
These are some of the creations from the children that attended this morning. In order for every child in Upper Pre School to take part they do two parades a day in the playground to music, in front of the other children and staff in the nursery who love to clap, cheer and dance along.
Our Easter bonnet parade tradition has been going for nearly 20 years now π£π°π

Upper Pre-School 1 and the Baby room have been focussing on sensory water play.
Upper Pre School's water play was based around the colour red and the water contained red glitter and red flower petals. The children used syringes and pans to make potions with the water and petals.
In the baby room, their water play was based on smell, they had slices of orange and lemon in their water and pots and pans for emptying and filling.

Today in our Upper Pre School 2 room Teacher Viv made the children a shop.
The children learnt about taking turns, weighing out fruits and vegetables and following lists.
The children wrote lists of the items they wanted to buy from the shops using the words on the table to help them with their letters.

πHeadstartβs 30 Year Anniversaryπ
Since the nursery first opened itβs doors on the 7th April 1994 we have cared for over 3,900 children and out of the 23 staff members we have currently working at the nursery, 6 staff members have worked at the nursery for 10+ years and 7 staff members have worked at the nursery for 20+ plus years.
To celebrate this magnificent achievement we had a party last Friday at nursery to celebrate 30 years of caring for children at Headstart!
The children enjoyed party games, party food and cake.
The nursery owner Di Smith gave a speech to the staff explaining how their care and commitment to keep the children safe and happy are what keeps the nursery thriving!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the families that have been through our doors over the last 30 years for your support, and for choosing us to be trusted with your children π
