Re-routing Rivers & Crayfish! 🦞💧

Today some pupils from Class 5 and Class 6 were really fortunate to have been given the opportunity to learn more about native crayfish in a local river. A project to improve the river is ongoing which involves temporarily relocating crayfish. To do this they are caught, measured and then relocated. Crayfish are protected, so a licence is needed to do any work with them. The pupils are so lucky to be able to view them and some were brave enough to hold one. We are all fans of native crayfish now!

🌟 Welcome back! 🌟

It was lovely to welcome all the children back to school today and see their smiling faces once again!

We were also delighted to officially open our new play tower, which has been added to compliment our existing trim trail. The children were very excited to explore it, and our Head Boy and Head Girl had the speial honour of officially opening the tower and cutting the ribbon 🎀

A huge thank you to the Friends of Grantham Prep for purchasing this fantastic new equipment for our children. We know it's going to be very well used and enjoyed!🛝😃

Science experiment 🧪

Class 1 and 2 enjoyed being scientists. They had to carefully pour vinegar into a test tube before using a funnel to pour bicarbonate of soda into a balloon. 🎈

As they put the balloon on the test tube and tipped the solid powder into the liquid they were amazed to see the reaction take place. Thus producing carbon dioxide gas, inflating the balloon. Have a try for yourself at home! 🌟

What a fantastic Sports Day we had yesterday! 🏃‍♀️🏅

The whole school enjoyed a day filled with fun, teamwork and sporting success. The atmosphere was amazing, and it was wonderful to see everyone giving their best and cheering each other on.

A huge congratulations to Newton House, our overall winners – a fantastic achievement! 👏🏆

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success!

Year 3 enjoyed an exciting and educational visit to Creswell Crags! 🦴🌿

The children loved taking part in hands-on learning, exploring the caves, discovering fascinating facts about life in the Stone Age, and bringing their classroom learning to life. It was a fantastic day full of curiosity, exploration, and unforgettable experiences.

Well done, Year 3, for representing our school so brilliantly! ⭐

Small Schools Athletics Champions! 🥇

Despite the heat, it has been a fantastic morning of competition, teamwork and determination. All of our athlete's hard work paid off, as Grantham finished a well deserved 1st place overall and are now Small Schools Athletics Champions!

We are so incredibly proud of every student who represented our school so brilliantly. What a team!!

☀️🌸 Yesterday, as part of our Open Morning, our Year 1 and Year 2 children enjoyed performing a traditional and delightful Maypole dance. 🧡✨

There was also a surprise appearance from SPARK, our IES/SEK mascot, who even joined in with the dancing! 🌈💃
