🎼🌟Sing and Play with The Halle Orchestra 🎼🌟

Our Junior children had a fantastic time performing alongside the Halle Orchestra at the Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham, in the specially designed concert for schools called Now Hear This – World Cup Fever.

The children had the wonderful opportunity to sing and play as part of a special programme which included highlights from West Side Story and Rhapsody in Blue, plus many other well known classical pieces of music 🎶⚽🎻

It was a truly memorable and thoroughly enjoyable musical experience, and we are incredibly proud of how enthusiastically and confidently the children took part. A wonderful day of music-making! 🎼✨

It's Friday, and what a fantastic first week back it has been!

A lovely first day back at school! It was also class photos this morning and the rain even stayed away! Smiles all round. 🌟📷

At Grantham Prep, we provide focused and supportive preparation for both 11+ and independent school entrance examinations. 📚

With small class sizes, children benefit from personalised teaching, allowing staff to identify strengths, build confidence and support areas for development. Our junior children take part in regular 11+ lessons as part of the curriculum. They use Bond books, developing skills in English, Maths, verbal and non verbal reasoning, comprehension and exam technique.

We also offer a dedicated 11+ Club, giving children further opportunities to practise, refine their skills and become familiar with the style of questions they may encounter.



Our aim is not only to prepare children acadmically, but also to help them approach the exams with confidence, resilience and a positive mindset.

At Grantham Prep School, we know that strong phonics skills are the foundation of confident reading and lifelong learning. 📚✨

In our Early Years classrooms, children are encouraged to explore sounds, letters, words, and stories through engaging, interactive learning experiences. From blending and segmenting to sharing favourite books together, every step helps to build confidence, communication, and a love of reading.

🎶 Music Lessons at Grantham Prep School 🎶

We are delighted to offer individual music lessons with our professional peripatetic music teachers at Grantham Prep School from September.

Children can learn a wide range of instruments and skills including:

🎷 Woodwind - Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Recorder
🎻 Strings - Violin
🎹 Piano

🎸 Guitar - Electric & Accoustic

Learning an instrument provides so many benefits for children — building confidence, creativity, discipline, teamwork, and communication skills, while also bringing the joy of music into everyday life.

Pupils will also have exciting opportunities to:
