Across two evenings, students will present a range of performances and creative work developed as part of their Arts Award Gold journey.

We're looking for parents and carers who would like to play a part in shaping the future of our academy by joining our Local Academy Committee as a parent governor.

You don’t need to work in education or have previous governance experience. What matters is an interest in Walton, our students and our community, and a willingness to contribute your time, ideas and experience.

Being a parent governor is an opportunity to make a difference, develop new skills and help support the continued improvement of our academy. Full induction, training and support are provided.

What better way to begin the new academic year than by celebrating some of our talented young writers?

Last year, students entered the national Young Writers ‘I Have a Dream’ poetry competition, exploring their hopes, ambitions and imaginations through creative writing. We are delighted that their work was selected for publication! 🌟

GCSE results | What a day! 🎉

A huge congratulations to all of our year 11 students! It’s been a fantastic morning celebrating their achievements and hearing about their exciting next steps.

Principal, Jess Leonard, said:

“Today is a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate everything our students have achieved. We are particularly pleased with the number of top grades achieved this year, including grade 9s and Distinction*, which are a fantastic reflection of our students’ hard work, commitment and determination.

GCSE results | Congratulations Mia! 🎉

It was an emotional results morning for Mia, who was overwhelmed to discover just how well she had done – including an outstanding grade 9 in French.

“I’m honestly so happy and a bit emotional. I’m staying at Walton for post 16, so it feels great to be able to carry on here for the next stage.”

GCSE results | Congratulations Aiden! 🎉

Aiden’s hard work paid off with a fantastic set of GCSE results, including a grade 9 in English literature, grade 8 in history and a Distinction in sport science.

“I’m really happy overall. I put a lot of effort into my revision, so it’s good to see that reflected in my results. I’m actually a bit shocked by how well I’ve done! The results mean I can take my next step and stay at Walton for post 16, which I’m really pleased about. For the rest of today, I’m just going to chill and enjoy it.”

GCSE results | Congratulations Rojan! 🎉

Rojan joined Walton Academy in year 9 with English as his second language, making today’s fantastic results an achievement to be especially proud of.

Among his results were an outstanding 9, 9 and 8 in chemistry, physics and biology, alongside English and English literature results that he was particularly delighted with.

“I’m really happy with how I’ve done, especially in English and English literature. English is my second language, so seeing those results today means a lot. I’m also really proud of my science grades. I’m staying at Walton Post 16 to study maths, further maths, chemistry and physics, with the aim of going into aerospace or mechanical engineering in the future.”

GCSE results | Congratulations Fabian! 🎉

There was a real sense of relief for Fabian this morning as he opened his GCSE results and discovered he had done better than he expected.

“I was pretty shocked, to be honest. They weren’t the grades I was expecting and I did better than I thought, especially in geography and English. It’s a big relief to have the results now and know how I’ve done.”

Next up for Fabian is Walton Post 16, where he’ll continue his studies in September.
