🧶✨ Crochet Club Moments making A cape of many colours ✨🧶
Last week, the kids and I decided to do something special. Making a cape for one of our own, whose birthday is coming up 🎉
The plan was simple: everyone would crochet squares at home and bring them in to be joined together this Thursday.
But what happened next honestly blew me away…
The children didn’t just follow the idea, they took ownership. They designed, planned, created, and even assigned roles amongst themselves. It became their project.
And the birthday child especially amazed me, he designed a bold “F” that will sit right in the centre of the cape 🧵✨
Moments like this remind me that crochet is so much more than just yarn and hooks. It’s creativity, teamwork, confidence, and community all woven together 💛
I can’t wait to see the final cape come to life!

Day 1 of this one-on-one beginner crochet class (online) 🧶✨

There is just something truly amazing about teaching someone and watching it click. Those moments when they’re getting it all make teaching so rewarding 💚

Usually in our first class we focus on learning how to make chains and turning them into a simple bracelet. Today though, we learned chains and moved on to single crochet , such a great start!

I’m really looking forward to seeing how this journey unfolds 🧵✨

Proud teacher moment…

Last week, the kids learned how to work in the round, so of course our first practice project had to be a hat. We started together in class, and the rest was set as homework. Today, I was beyond impressed when I saw this finished hat.

She combined different techniques we’ve been learning in our sessions. The goal was simply to make a basic hat, yet she went ahead and created a whole bucket hat! She used double crochet for the base, half double crochet for the body, and finished it off with a beautiful wavy brim.

I was so impressed I had to ask her if it was intentional… and her answer was a very proud “YES!”

My heart is full. These kids amaze me every single week. 🧶💜

My amazing young learners made their very own crochet bows, and they did such a fantastic job. Each bow came out unique, full of personality, and beautifully crafted by little hands that are growing more confident with every lesson.

Learning to crochet bows teaches patience, focus, and precision, but most importantly, it reminds the kids that they can create something beautiful from just a hook, yarn, and a bit of guidance.

I’m so proud of their progress! 💜
One joyful stitch at a time, they’re building real skills and having fun along the way.

🧶✨ Crochet Club Progress Update ✨🧶

Our wonderful young crocheters have been doing an amazing job! After learning how to work in rows and create straight, even lines, they’ve now moved on to the next exciting step ,working in the round 🎉

This new skill allows them to create circular projects like hats, scrunchies and other fun 3D pieces, and it’s been so lovely seeing their confidence grow as they take on new challenges. Each session builds on the last, helping them develop patience, focus and creativity through hands-on learning.

A few weeks ago, mentioned seeing a leavers doll online and thought it would be a good surprise for her little human who is just finishing primary . I was like, say no more. I got you covered. I usually stay away from stuff because they hurt my fingers too much, but this is for a little human that I love, so it was a no-brainer.

got the supplies needed( I still have enough to make 4/5 dolls), and I got to work and 1 week later, the doll was done and ready to go to its owner.

I think it turned out better than I had imagined even her big head managed to not be a distraction.

She has gone home now and had been named Jade.
