We are ready! 🌟

The classrooms are prepared, the two INSET training days are complete, and we are really looking forward to welcoming you all back for the new school year.

We have lots of exciting plans ahead and can’t wait to see all that the new year will bring.

Tonight, we’re especially thinking of our youngest children who will be starting school tomorrow. We know there may be a few butterflies, but we are ready to give them a very warm welcome and help them settle into their new adventure. 💛

See you tomorrow! 👋 ✨

A fantastic first transition morning as we begin our journey towards September! 🌟

Today, the children worked brilliantly together, showing wonderful teamwork and communication while building a GIANT bug hotel! 🐞🐛🐝 They carefully gathered natural materials, shared ideas and worked together to create a cosy new home for our garden insects.

Inspired by The Boy with Flowers in His Hair, our nursery and reception children enjoyed collecting and pressing beautiful flowers and leaves. 🌸🍃

This lovely activity encouraged creativity, careful observation and an appreciation of nature while bringing our story to life.

We were delighted to welcome Bishop David and Lee Moscato, Director of Diocesan Education, to our school today. Their visit was a wonderful opportunity for us to share and celebrate the many great things that happen across our school.

During their time with us, they visited Class One, where they enjoyed observing a Godly Play session and were impressed by the children’s thoughtful engagement and reflection. They also joined us for our whole-school collective worship and enjoyed lunch with the Worship Team to hear about the the roles they have in shaping worship at GwC.

We are incredibly proud of our pupils and staff, who showcased our school so warmly. It was a joyous occasion and a reminder of all that makes GwC such a special place.

After reading Bothered by Bugs by Emily Gravett, class one went on a real-life minibeast adventure just like Pete the badger from the story! We hunted for tiny creatures in their microhabitats, observed their fascinating features up close, and then made sure every little bug was safely returned to its home. 🐞🌿
