**Radford Taekwon-Do — Building Confidence. Developing Technique.**

❤️ **A huge well done to our Radford Taekwon-Do students** Billy, Finley, Freddie, Noah and Sylvee, who proudly represented Gassors Taekwondo-Do Wales at the UK ITF South East Regional Championships on Saturday! 🥋

🥉 Finley – Sparring
🥈🥇🥇 Freddie – Patterns & Sparring
🥇 Noah – Flying Kick
🥉🥉 Sylvee – Patterns & Sparring
❤️ Billy – No medal this time, but a performance to be incredibly proud of.

I know some of the students were disappointed with their performances, perhaps measuring themselves by the medals they won.

But as a coach, I saw so much more.

I saw **3 things no medal can measure:**

❤️ **COURAGE** – stepping into the ring, sometimes for the very first time.

💪 **DETERMINATION** – fighting through tough rounds and never giving up.

🔥 **HARD WORK** – taking the techniques we’ve worked on in class and putting them into practice on the mats.

I saw students improve their patterns, show greater understanding of power, timing and technique, and battle right to the very end against some tough opponents.

**A medal measures one moment. Character is built over time.**

So parents, please remind your children to be proud of themselves. Their courage, determination and hard work are what make my spirit soar every time I see them on the mats.

🥋 **Medal or no medal, they are winners.** ❤️

Enjoy your day.

Congratulations to all of the Radford Taekwon-Do Students who earned their new belts today. We are as always extremely proud of the effort and commitment you all give to your training and the new belts are your reward for that.
A special mention to Lucia who earned an A Pass today for standing out in the grading.
And an extra mention goes to my wife Louise for earning her first belt today. After 14 years of pestering I finally convinced her to start training. I know how hard and daunting it is to start Taekwon-Do at a Mature age 😄 so I’m very proud of her for firstly starting and working hard for her Yellow tag. Hopefully we can convince some of our other parents & adults to join Louise in our classes.
