We made scone hedgehogs last week and one of our little ones enjoyed it so much they made them all over again at home with their family! 🥰

“Oh help! Oh no! It’s a Gruffalo Granny!” 🐾

After Gruffalo Granny book arriving yesterday we went on a woodland walk and then to the beach to read our book and search for Nature items that remind us of Granny! 📖🍃

finding red pricklies for her back, big teeth , feathers for her grey hair and, of course, those big green eyes! 👀

The children had so much fun collecting, exploring, mixing and creating with everything we found. A lovely way to bring our story to life through nature, imagination and messy play! 🌱🥣

Autumn mud kitchen 🍂🍂…

Today our mud kitchen had an autumn makeover! The children had lots of wonderful natural resources to explore that we have been collecting including apples, conkers, acorns, colourful leaves, berries and water, along with some eggshells we brought outside to add to their creations. 🌿

There was lots of mixing, pouring, crushing, scooping and imaginative play as the children created their own autumn recipes. 🍎🍂

This simple outdoor experience offered so many opportunities for learning through play. The children explored different textures, colours and smells, developed their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, and used their imagination, creativity and problem-solving skills.

We chatted about the changing seasons and where our natural ingredients came from, encouraging curiosity about the world around us. The children were able to lead their own play, make choices and share their ideas with each other.

A lovely, messy autumn afternoon filled with curiosity, creativity and fun! 🍁🤎
