Bookbuzz at Bethany! ✨📚

Bookbuzz is a reading programme that encourages pupils to discover the enjoyment of reading by choosing their own book from a selection of titles recommended by teachers and librarians.

Back in September, our Year 7 pupils chose from 16 fantastic books, covering a range of genres and interests. Now their books have arrived, and it’s time to get reading!

We hope our Year 7s enjoy getting stuck into their new reads! 📖

🚀 Bethany pupils blast off into space! 🌍✨

On Thursday, our Assembly Hall was transformed into a planetarium as the WonderDome team brought the wonders of the Universe to Bethany!

Year 7 and Year 8 pupils, alongside visiting Year 6 pupils from local primary schools, enjoyed an immersive journey through our Solar System and beyond, exploring planets, stars and distant galaxies through incredible 360° projections. 🌌

It was a brilliant way to bring science to life, spark curiosity and get pupils thinking about the world beyond our own planet. Who knows, we might even have a future astronaut or two in the making! 👨‍🚀

A huge thank you to the WonderDome team for such a fantastic experience and for inspiring our young scientists to keep asking questions and exploring the unknown.

At Bethany, learning is all about curiosity, discovery and asking, “What if?” 🌟

Celebrating footballing success at Bethany! ⚽

We’re incredibly proud to share some fantastic recent footballing achievements by Juniper and Maisie.

👏 Juniper, Year 10 and a member of the Bethany Football Excellence Pathway, has been invited to an FA England Women’s Talent Pathway ‘Future Lionesses’ Event - a wonderful recognition of her talent and potential.

👏 Maisie, Year 13, is enjoying her second season with Tonbridge Angels Women. After an unbeaten 16-game run and promotion to Tier 6 last season, the team has now reached the FA Cup Third Round Proper - the furthest any Tonbridge Angels team has ever progressed!

Congratulations to both! ⚽

Evenings, Weekends and Holiday Periods at Bethany School

We’re delighted to launch a new initiative opening our fantastic facilities for hire outside of school hours during evenings, weekends and holiday periods, to local clubs, organisations, schools and businesses. 🤝

From our Pengelly Performance Centre and beautiful 25-metre, six-lane swimming pool to our Astro multi-use pitch and other sports, meeting and event spaces, we’re looking forward to welcoming more of our local community to Bethany. 🌱

This is the result of many years of work, and we’re grateful to Goudhurst Parish Council, our neighbours, the local community, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, National Highways and David Hicken Associates for their support in making this possible.

We’re also pleased to welcome Dr Louise Vickerman, our new Partnership Manager, who will lead this exciting initiative and develop new partnerships with organisations across the local area.

Looking for a venue for a sporting activity, meeting, event or community gathering? We’d love to hear from you.

Contact Louise at [email protected] for more information.
