๐ŸŒŸ What a wonderful week at St Johnโ€™s! ๐ŸŒŸ

Our Reception children have settled into life at St Johnโ€™s beautifully this week. It has been lovely to see them becoming more confident, making new friends and enjoying all the exciting experiences that school has to offer.

A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us for our Reception Teddy Bearsโ€™ Picnic today. It was wonderful to see so many of you sharing this special moment with your children. ๐Ÿงบ๐Ÿป

Our other children have also enjoyed their first full week in their new classrooms, getting stuck into their new learning units and embracing the challenges that come with a new school year. We have already seen lots of good learning happening across the school.

It was also lovely to welcome parents into school for our Meet the Teacher sessions. Thank you for taking the time to come along and find out more about your childrenโ€™s learning and the year ahead. We really value the partnership between home and school. ๐Ÿ’™

Year 4 headed off for a day trip to Stubbington which has been rearranged from Year 3 following the heatwave.

And finallyโ€ฆ what a week for Year 6! They have been absolutely amazing at Stubbington. ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸฆŠ

They have learnt so much about animals and nature while developing their teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. They have taken risks, challenged themselves, supported one another and embraced every opportunity that came their way. The adults have been incredibly proud of them โ€” and they may even have been the best group ever at keeping their rooms tidy! ๐Ÿ‘

It has been a busy but brilliant week and we are so proud of all of our children.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒ Year 6 Earthquake Challenge! ๐ŸŒ

Year 6 LOVED their earthquake challenge yesterday!

After receiving information about an earthquake, the children were sent on a rescue mission, where they had to navigate a series of challenging obstacles, ensuring that both they and their equipment made it safely across each area.

The challenge required teamwork, collaboration, communication and a willingness to take risks โ€” and Year 6 demonstrated all of these skills in abundance! ๐Ÿ‘

It was fantastic to see the children working together, supporting one another, thinking creatively and tackling each challenge with determination and resilience.

A brilliant afternoon of learning, problem-solving and, most importantly, having fun while working as a team! ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘

Year 6 created mammal hotels yesterday, thinking about what they might need for an overnight stay: food, water, safety and warmth. โ˜€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ฆ

3 visitors were found this morning and were named by the children: Tonya, Linda (after Mrs Matthews), and Skyla. ๐Ÿญ

The children spent the morning learning about different small mammals, sketching them and releasing them back into the wild before lunch. ๐Ÿฅ—

This evening the Year 6 children, at Stubbington, had to explore the grounds to find the hidden pirates. One of the pirates were guilty of committing a crime that the children had to solve. Thankfully they succeeded so they were treated to milkshakes and biscuits before bed. ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ ๐Ÿ’€ ๐Ÿšข ๐Ÿ’ฐ
