I am delighted that Conservative-run Hampshire County Council has confirmed a new Best Start Family Hub and three Network Sites for Gosport.

The Alver Valley Family Centre will become Gosport’s dedicated Best Start Family Hub. A Best Start Family Hub is essentially a one-stop shop for families, bringing together services that support children from pregnancy through the early years and beyond. This means parents can access help in one place instead of having to navigate multiple agencies and locations.

The Hub will be supported by Network Sites at Gosport Discovery Centre & Bridgemary Library and the King's Academies Gosport Community Hub, helping to make services more accessible to families across our community.

This is fantastic news for local parents, carers and young children. By bringing services together and making support easier to access, we can help ensure every child has the strongest possible start in life.

Year R (September 2026)
At Playdaze, we are running a series of School Starter Play Sessions throughout June for children who will be starting Year R/Reception this September.

These sessions are designed to give children the opportunity to meet and play with other new starters in a relaxed, fun environment ahead of beginning school. It’s a lovely way for children (and parents/carers) to start making familiar connections before September.

Families can either walk in to a session or book online in advance at Playdaze.pembee.app. Each school has their own session.

We have a lot of lost property at the moment. Please check the lost property boxes outside your child's room to reclaim anything that belongs to your child. Whatever is left in the boxes by Friday will be donated to charity 😊

We are still experiencing staff sickness. If you could help us again one more day we would be very grateful. ❤️

Good morning - Thursday 30th April

Dinky Ducks appears to have a sickness bug, which has spread to our lovely staff. This means we have a number of staff off today.

Could we very politely ask if some of you could keep your children at home today to help us out.

We can offer you a session in either May half term holiday or the summer holidays.

We would be very grateful. ☺️
