Year 6 Open Evening - Thursday 24 September 2026

We are delighted to invite Year 6 pupils, parents and carers to our Year 6 Open Evening at King's Academy Bay House.

During your visit, you will have the opportunity to:
- Explore our departments
- Meet our staff and pupils
- Learn more about our extra-curricular opportunities
- Find out about our exciting building project
- Attend a presentation by our Headteacher, Mr Willis

The school will be open from 4:15pm until 7pm.
Headteacher presentations will take place in the Main Hall at:

WELCOME BACK KABH

Today we welcome back our everyone, and it’s fantastic to have the whole Bay House community back together!

After the summer break, our corridors and classrooms are once again filled with familiar faces, catching up with friends, meeting new people and getting ready for another exciting year.

It’s been brilliant to welcome our Year 7 and Lower Sixth earlier this week, and today we’re delighted to have Years 8–11 back with us too.

Whether you’re taking your first steps into secondary school or beginning your Sixth Form journey, tomorrow is the start of something new. There will be new people to meet, new opportunities to discover and plenty of memories to make along the way.

Welcome Back KABH | Ready for the new school year?

We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back to Bay House!

Being ready to learn starts with having the right equipment with you each day. Please take a few minutes before the start of term to check that your child has everything they need, including their Chromebook (if your child has one), reading book, stationery and scientific calculator.

A little preparation now means pupils can arrive ready, organised and able to focus on learning from day one.

Top tip: Pack your bag the night before to make sure you never forget anything!

We hope you’ve all had a fantastic summer and are looking forward to the start of the new academic year. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back!

As part of getting ready for the new school year, here’s a quick reminder of our uniform expectations. Please take a moment to check that your child has everything they need and is ready to start the year smartly and confidently.

Our warm-weather uniform adjustments have now ended, so pupils should return in full uniform.

We’ve highlighted some key reminders in the graphics, but please do check the full Uniform Policy for all the details.

If you need support with uniform costs, have any questions about the expectations, or there is any way we can support your child in meeting them, please contact your child’s Year Office. We’re always happy to help.

START OF TERM – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Due to the continuation of our building works over the summer, we will have a slightly staggered return to the new academic year.

There will also be an early finish at 2:15pm for the first three days of term.

- Tuesday 1 September: INSET Day – school closed to all pupils.

- Wednesday 2 September: Year 7 and Lower Sixth return.

- Thursday 3 September: Years 7–11 return.

- Friday 4 September: Years 7–11.

- Monday 7 September: All pupils in Years 7–11 and Sixth Form students return and normal school hours resume (8:45am–3:15pm).

Thank you to everyone who has successfully enrolled to join King’s Academy Bay House Sixth Form. We’re really looking forward to welcoming you and supporting you as you take the next step in your education.

Our Sixth Form continues to achieve excellent outcomes, with:

⭐ 62% A–B* — above the national average of 55.8%
⭐ 85% A–C* — above the national average of 78.4%
⭐ 100% pass rate — above the national average of 97.5%
⭐ Our student progress was within the top 5% nationally last year, with further improvement predicted.

These results reflect our commitment to helping every student achieve their potential and prepare for their future.
