A VHF radio is one of the most important pieces of safety equipment on any boat, but knowing how and when to use it is just as important as having one on board.

Our RYA VHF SRC Online Course gives you the knowledge and confidence to communicate effectively at sea, whether you're making routine calls, requesting assistance, or responding in an emergency.

You'll learn:

✅ Correct radio procedures and channel usage
✅ Distress, urgency and safety communications
✅ DSC (Digital Selective Calling) operation
✅ GMDSS and EPIRB awareness
✅ Search and Rescue procedures
✅ Ship-to-shore communications

💻 Complete the theory online, at your own pace
📍 Assessment options available in London or Gosport
💷 £95 (excluding £76 RYA licence and assessment fee)

The SRC certificate is a legal requirement for operating a marine VHF radio fitted with DSC and is highly recommended for anyone planning to skipper, charter or cruise offshore. Use the winter evenings to learn a new skill.
