We are looking forward to welcoming back our Year 1 and 2 children tomorrow morning. Our Year R team are excited about continuing home visits for the next 2 days and look forward to welcoming their children to school on Monday 7th September.
REMINDER
School starts at 8.45 and ends at 3.15.
The playground gates will be open from 8.40am
Class doors open at 8.45 am

The children enjoyed a fun filled last day yesterday which included a bouncy castle, fun and games and, a whole school water fight.

We look forward to seeing all of the Year 1 and 2 children at the start of the autumn term on THURSDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER.
Our Year R children all start school on MONDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER.

Celebrating Mrs Jayne Thompson – A Remarkable 35-Year Legacy

Today we celebrate the incredible contribution of Jayne Thompson, who is retiring after more than 35 years of dedicated service at Rowner Infant School.

As a highly valued Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), Jayne has made a lasting impact on generations of children. Through her extensive training and expertise in Speech and Language, she has delivered programmes across the school, helping countless pupils develop confidence and communication skills that have supported them throughout their learning journeys.

In her unique role, Jayne has worked in and supported every class, giving her the rare privilege of knowing every child in the school. Her kindness, encouragement, and unwavering commitment have made her a familiar and trusted presence for pupils, staff, and families alike.

For many, many years, Jayne also lovingly ran the school library, fostering a love of reading and helping children discover the joy of books. She taught generations of pupils essential library skills, encouraging curiosity, independence, and a lifelong appreciation of literature. Her passion for reading has left an enduring legacy that will continue to benefit children for years to come.

Jayne is also affectionately known as our school's "Star Baker", delighting everyone over the years with her wonderful cakes and baking for countless special events and celebrations. Her thoughtful contributions have helped create many happy memories for our school community.

While Jayne will be greatly missed, her influence and legacy will continue to be felt throughout Rowner Infant School for many years to come. We are enormously grateful for everything she has done and the difference she has made to so many lives.

Thank you, Jayne, for your dedication, compassion, and extraordinary service. We wish you a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement filled with new adventures, laughter, and plenty of time for baking! 🎂✨

For their last week at art club the children looked at some prehistoric rock art made by humans thousands of years ago. They then had a go at making their own rock art and created their own rock Boris Bee 🐝 and Special Sidney🐞.

Mrs Doel and Miss Thorpe would like to thank the art club children for their involvement this term. We have explored different artists, styles of art, materials, and time periods over the past 5 sessions. The work they have produced has been amazing and every child has given each activity a go. Well done everyone! 🎨🖌️

We had an afternoon of fun for our Year 2 leavers today. The children enjoyed having a bouncy castle, a silent disco, a photo booth and, face painting done by Mrs Davis.
Our wonderful PTA made gift bags for each child and Miss Sleaman made them all a special biscuit. The children all said that it was 'the best afternoon ever!'
Our Year 2 Leavers Assembly is tomorrow morning at 9.30.
Reminder, due to health and safety, we can only allow 2 adults to attend for each child. Buggies and prams will need to be left in our foyer.

Tickets will be on sale from the gate in the mornings this week and can also be purchased from the school office.

We would like to thank our families for their generous raffle donations today. We will be making hampers with the donations and will share photos with you next week. Raffle tickets can be purchased from the school office and we also plan to sell them on the gate next week. The raffle will be drawn on Monday 20th July in the afternoon. More details will follow.
