💛 Please support one of our Seahawk Under Fives families 💛

We are sharing this fundraiser to support one of the wonderful families in our Seahawk community.

Little Harriet has been bravely battling cancer since January 2025, after being diagnosed with Very High Risk Rhabdomyosarcoma. She has already faced an incredible amount for such a young child, including rounds of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and ongoing maintenance treatment.

Harriet's family have now been told that she will need another 12 months of chemotherapy. This means travelling to Southampton every week to collect her oral chemotherapy, as well as regular hospital visits for IV chemotherapy. With each journey being around 40 miles and sometimes taking up to two hours, the additional travel and fuel costs are placing a huge strain on the family.

The family are hoping to raise funds towards a second car, to help ease the pressure of travelling to hospital while allowing them to continue making precious memories together as a family.

We know how incredibly loved Harriet is within our setting, and we are sending her and her whole family all our love and support. 💛

Looking for kids activities this school holiday? Love nature? Why not come for a visit to the reserve with your family. We have Mini Ranger backpacks for your budding nature enthusiasts (£1 to hire), hides to look out of and lots of birds to see!
We look forward to welcoming you. We have a brand new ticket office which is located next to Harbourside Cafe. From Thursday 23rd July to Sunday 31st August.
Free child entrance during HCC school holidays.
In line with the government VAT reductions, adult prices are reduced over the summer too!
Children must be accompanied by a full paying adult.
The ever popular duck food 🦆 is available to buy along with ice creams 🍨
No booking required, just turn up on the day and get your adult tickets from the Ticket Office.
We also have a pond dipping activity which is a bookable event on Wednesday 5th August with sessions available between 9.30am and 1.30pm

🌍🧹 COMMUNITY CLEAN UP SUCCESS! 🧹🌍

A huge THANK YOU to all our amazing children, parents, and staff who took part in our Sponsored Community Clean Up Event! 💚

Together, we walked around our local area using litter pickers to help keep our community clean, safe, and beautiful for children to play and for animals to enjoy too 🐦🌿♻️

This special event helped us raise money for our fantastic end-of-year party 🎉 where we will celebrate all the wonderful memories we have made together this year and say a big goodbye and good luck to all our friends leaving for school 📚✨

After all our hard work, everyone returned to Seahawk for a well-earned ice lolly 🍦 and received a certificate to celebrate their amazing efforts 🏅👏

We are so proud of our little eco heroes!

At Seahawk, we have a real love for nature, curiosity, and repurposing resources wherever we can. We are currently working hard to refresh and reimagine our learning spaces to create a calmer, more natural environment for our children to explore, create, and feel at home in.

Over the years, many of our resources have become well loved and tired, so we are hoping to give our spaces a little refresh with more natural, cosy, and open-ended resources inspired by nature-based learning.

We would be incredibly grateful for any donations of:

• Wooden or wicker baskets

• Natural rugs and cushions

• Wooden furniture or storage units

• Tea sets and kitchen utensils

• Wooden frames or wall art

• Low natural-colour tables and chairs

• Wooden toys and loose parts

🌿🐠✨ What a magical day we had at Seahawk Pre School today! ✨🐌🕊️

Today we celebrated Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday! 🎉 Last summer, Sir David awarded us with a School of Nature Award for all of the children’s amazing hard work completing the RSPB Wild Challenge 🌎💚, so it felt extra special that today was full of exciting nature discoveries!

🐟💦 This morning brought the BIGGEST surprise… our little fish gave birth to 5 tiny baby fish! The children were fascinated watching them swimming around the tank and talking about how the babies had arrived.

🐌🌱 Out in the garden, the children discovered a snail and decided to create a cosy little bug house using natural resources. They explored the garden carefully, searching for tiny creatures and learning all about the natural world around them. 🪵🍃🕷️

🕊️📚 We also enjoyed exploring our new bird guide book together. The children laid quietly on the grass listening to the sounds around them before spotting birds in the sky and discussing the beautiful colours and movements they noticed. ❤️💙

🪽✨ Inspired by what they had seen and heard, the children used their imaginations to become birds themselves — swooping, flying and fluttering around the garden together!

What a wonderful day full of curiosity, imagination, discovery and celebrating the beauty of nature together 🌍💚🐠🐌🕊️

As the weather is getting warmer, we’re excited to be spending more time outdoors and enjoying lots of fun water play activities with the children.

Although many children come very well prepared each day, we still get through quite a lot of our spare clothing supplies.

With this in mind, we are currently running low on spare clothes. We would really appreciate any donations of the following items for our запас supply:

Pants/underwear

Trousers/leggings

Socks

Shoes (especially easy-to-wear summer shoes such as Crocs or similar)

Having spare clothing readily available helps us keep children comfortable and happy throughout the day, especially during messy and water-based play.
