Check our our new social action groups for 2026-27!

At ARFS, our social action groups serve as a practical outworking of the schoolโ€™s theologically rooted Christian vision, empowering our children to become "courageous advocates" for change. These groups encourage children to live out our school values of love and determination by identifying and responding to needs within their local and global communities.

By participating in these social action groups, our children develop early leadership skills and a lifelong commitment to social responsibility, recognising that their voices and actions can truly improve the lives of others.

Year 4 have had a fantastic first week back at school.
We have started our new D.T. project, began to hone our hockey skills and completed some dictionary work around our new text in English.
They have really set a high standard in terms of behaviour and attitudes to learning as well - let's keep this up all year! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

In collective worship, we are reflecting on the importance of belonging to a community. This week, we are thinking about the philosophy of 'Ubuntu'.

Ubuntu is an ancient Southern African philosophy anchored in the core belief that human beings are deeply interconnected. It is famously summarised by the expressions "I am because we are" or "A person is a person through other people".

Ask your child what they understand by the term 'ubuntu'!

๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ”จ๐Ÿ‘ทLots of you were asking about our new 'shed' yesterday - it is still a work in progress but it will be a new Forest School outdoor classroom to enhance our existing Forest School provision. We are very excited for it to be ready to use!

๐ŸŒฒ๐Ÿฆ‰Forest School is a an outdoor education process where children regularly visit a natural woodland space to learn through hands-on play, exploration and supported risk-taking. Values such as stewardship, thankfulness, compassion and community are not just talked about in collective worship - they are actively lived out as our children work together, share resources and care for the natural world in a precious corner of our school grounds. ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚

We are so grateful to our wonderful PTFA for part funding our outdoor classroom - it will make an incredible difference to the experiences of our children. ๐Ÿซถ

โœจ A little sneak peek at our new Year 1 provision! ๐Ÿ‘€

Weโ€™re really excited about our new Year 1 set-up and the opportunities it will give our children to learn through exploration, curiosity and investigation. ๐Ÿงธ๐Ÿ“šโœจ

Weโ€™ve created lots of inviting areas for the children to investigate, practise their skills and apply what theyโ€™ve been learning in different ways.

We want Year 1 to feel like a place where children can be independent, curious and excited to learn and where thereโ€™s always something new to discover!

We canโ€™t wait to see the children getting stuck in next week! ๐Ÿ’›
