💜 The Flynn McDonald Scholarship 💜

Debbie is Fred’s Drama Tutor and Director. She started Fred’s 11 years ago with her daughter, Leanne, and is incredibly proud of how the academy has grown over the years.

With over 45 years of experience in acting, directing and choreographing, Debbie brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to Fred’s. She loves helping young performers grow in confidence, develop their skills and discover their love of performing.

Debbie also directs Fred’s shows and loves seeing the students progress from their first steps into drama to confidently performing on stage.

Our Lauren Dance Tutor
Lauren comes from a musical family and has been singing since she was little. She began dancing at the age of 10 and trained in a wide range of styles including Tap, Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, Disco, and Street Dance. She later studied Performing Arts at college, further developing her love for the stage.

At just 21, Lauren opened her own stage school, which she ran for over a decade before taking a break to raise her family. Throughout her career, she has performed professionally in renowned venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, Her Majesty’s Theatre, and The Millennium Dome. She has also worked as a choreographer for many shows and musical bands over the years.

Leanne is the Principal of Frederick Douglas Performing Arts Academy (Fred’s).

With many years of experience in both performing and tutoring, Leanne brings a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and passion to Fred’s. Her own love of performing began when she first stepped onto the stage at just five years old.

Since then, performing arts has always been a huge part of her life. Leanne has performed in many productions over the years and now loves passing her experience on to the next generation.

As Principal of Fred’s, Leanne is passionate about helping every child and young person build confidence, develop their talents, make friendships and, most importantly, enjoy performing.
