Trust me, this is a skill that you will continue to use in drumming! Incorporating your left foot into fills will help you keep time as well as make the fills sound more complicated than they are!

Click the link below to get your free PDF download full of fills to practice! 😁

Accents are a great thing to practise whether you are just starting to learn the drums or have been playing for a while. They can help strengthen your music reading skills as well as your hand technique. Throw different hi-hat patterns into the mix and you then start creating some awesome sounding drum beats.

I have created a free PDF version of this post to allow you to start practising accents. These hi-hat patterns increase in difficulty as you go along. My advice to you is to start slow and then begin speeding them up as you get more comfortable. As always, feel free to get in touch if you struggle with any of these. I hope you enjoy playing them as much as I and my students do!

Exciting news for the new year! Starting in January, I am offering music lessons that follow the Rock School syllabus. This means that you can earn professional certificates that show how much you have progressed in your playing. Higher Rock School qualifications will also give you UCAS points that can help you get into uni in the future! 🤘

I often get asked questions about practice pads. Do I need one? Which one do I get? etc. My answer is always yes. Practice pads have personally helped me develop hand technique and allows me to keep up practicing whilst I'm away from a kit. The Donner 12" practice pad is one that I have and I find it great to use. It has a big enough practice area but it's still easily portable! Would 100% recommend ✌️ 😄
