Our Story

We are a full time childcare service registered for 178 children aged between 3 months and 12 years! Grant funded places available for 2-5 year olds. We also offer School Club and Holiday Club services. Our focus is on outdoor learning and natural play, with free flow play to our large garden areas, as well as having the use of the wildflower garden around the ruin of Newbyres Castle and the Gore Glen woods for our Forest Kindergarten activities. Across our two buildings, Newbyres Hall and St Paul’s, we have spacious rooms for the different age groups - babies, toddlers, 2-3s and early learners; as well as separate quiet rooms for heuristic play. We enjoy frequent outings, including trips to the local library and parks. We are able to do pick-ups from local council nurseries. We also focus on the development of communication skills from a very early age, with staff using Signalong (signing & speech) as a bridge to spoken language. Each age group benefits from age and stage-appropriate communication groups, from a qualified Speech and Language Therapist along with highly skilled staff.

We have become well known for our pioneering Intergenerational Project, and recently won an award for Best Established Intergenerational Project at the Generations Working Together conference.
