Thank you for all the responses so far to our Newbattle Bus Transport form. We're still keen to hear from as many people as possible (both provided and denied transport) so we can build up as full a picture as possible - form link in comments ⬇️

Quick summary so far:
📃 86 responses in total
✅ 29 have been provided transport
❌ 57 who have not been provided transport

There are a number of examples where kids in the same street have different outcomes. Something is obviously broken somewhere...

🚌 HIGH SCHOOL TRANSPORT

We are aware that several children who have recently left P7 at Gorebridge Primary School have been denied transport (a school bus) to Newbattle High School for S1, whereas others have been successful in their application.

We are keen to understand if there is any pattern to these denials, and we are trying to collate information to discuss with the Travel Team at Midlothian Council.

If you have a child starting at Newbattle (or already there) and have been provided or denied transport, we'd love to hear from you. Please find the link in comments for more information.

The next parent council meeting is tomorrow (Thursday 30th) at 5pm at the school. Everyone is welcome and we value your input no matter how big or small so it would be lovely to see you there
