**Support Worker – Early Years / Additional Needs**

We are looking for a **kind, caring and patient Support Worker** to provide one-to-one support to a very young child at **Howden Pre-School**.

💛 **21 hours per week – term time only**
📅 Monday: 8am–12pm
📅 Tuesday: 8am–6pm
📅 Thursday: 8am–3pm
📆 **Fixed-term contract until July 2027, with the possibility of extension**
💷 **£12.71 per hour**

This is a rewarding role supporting a child with special educational needs. You will help her feel safe and secure, support her development and communication, and build a trusting relationship through play, interaction and nurturing care.

Experience of working with **SEND or children with additional needs** would be an advantage, but most importantly we're looking for someone who is warm, reliable, patient and passionate about making a difference. 💕

💚 A huge thank you to Megan!

After an incredible six years as our Treasurer, Megan has decided to step down from her voluntary role due to a conflict of interest with her new job.

Although her own children left Early Explorers two years ago, Megan has continued to give her time, knowledge and support completely voluntarily. We are so grateful for everything she has done and wish her every success in her new role! 💚

This does mean we now have a Trustee vacancy for a Treasurer across our three settings in Howden and Newport.

You don’t need to be an accountant or have previous Treasurer experience. The role is mainly about providing financial oversight and support as a Trustee, with the day-to-day financial administration already handled by Carrie and the team.

If you’re organised, trustworthy and comfortable with numbers, we’d love to hear from you. Being a Trustee is a great way to support Early Explorers and help shape the future of our charity.

🌟 Government Funded Childcare at Howden Pre-School 🌟

Did you know your child could be eligible for government-funded childcare at Howden Pre-School? 💙

We offer funded places for eligible children from 9 months old right through to school age, helping families access high-quality early education while reducing childcare costs.

How does it work?

👶 From 9 months old – Eligible working families may be able to claim funded childcare.

🧸 From age 3 – All children are entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare per week during term time, regardless of family income or employment.

⭐ Some working families may be eligible for up to 30 hours of funded childcare each week during term time.

Funding is provided by the government and can be used towards your child's sessions with us. If you're eligible, you'll need to apply online and provide us with your childcare code before the start of term.

The end of the academic year is always difficult for us, saying good bye to the little people 😢

But then we get this feedback to put a smile on our faces ❤️❤️

To Everyone at Harper’s Preschool,

As Harper comes to the end of her preschool journey, I just wanted to say a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart.

You’ve helped her grow into such a confident, caring and happy little girl, and we’ll always be grateful for the encouragement, reassurance and genuine care you’ve given her. It’s clear that every child is treated as if they are your own, and that is something truly special.

Thank you for every cuddle when she needed one, every word of encouragement, every smile, every activity, and every memory you’ve helped create. You’ve all played such an important part in Harper’s early years, and we’ll never forget it.

I honestly can’t recommend your preschool highly enough. Any family looking for a nurturing, loving place for their child will always hear me singing your praises.

Thank you for everything you’ve done for Harper and for our family. We will miss you all so much, but we’ll always look back on these years with the happiest memories.
