We offer classes from age 3 onwards in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Acro, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, stretching and toning, Acro Conditioning and Street Dance/Commercial. We provide professional and disciplined dance training in the ISTD examination syllabus which is extremely popular and is now taught world wide. Our main element of success is to provide a fun and enjoyable environment for your

💜✈️ Good Luck & Goodbye, Miss Amy! ✈️💜

This summer we say goodbye to our amazing Miss Amy as she begins an exciting new adventure, heading to Dubai to teach on a two-year contract.

Amy has been part of the Impulse Dance Academy family for the past 9 years, and in that time she has inspired so many dancers with her passion for street/commercial and contemporary dance. She has been a wonderful teacher, role model, and we know she will continue to achieve incredible things.

While we’re so sad to see you go, we couldn’t be prouder of everything you’ve accomplished and this amazing opportunity ahead. Thank you for everything you’ve given to our dance family over the last nine years.

We wish you nothing but success, happiness, and unforgettable memories in Dubai. We can’t wait to follow your new journey.

💃 Join Our ISTD Graded Modern Dance Classes

📅 Sundays: Primary – Grade 4 Modern
📅 Wednesdays: Grade 5 Modern & Upwards

Modern dance is a dynamic and expressive dance genre that encourages creativity, confidence, and self-expression. Developed as an alternative to classical ballet, it allows dancers to move with greater freedom while building strength, flexibility, coordination, and musicality.

Through jumps, turns, floor work, and expressive movement, dancers learn to tell stories and communicate emotion in a fun and inspiring way.

🎓 Our students work towards ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) graded examinations, progressing through each level as their skills and confidence grow. Whether your child dances for fun or dreams of a future in the performing arts, ISTD Modern Dance provides a rewarding journey that builds technique, confidence, creativity, and lifelong skills.

What is Contemporary Dance?

✨ Join Maisie’s Friday Inter/Senior Contemporary Class! ✨

We’re looking for new dancers to join this fantastic class!

Contemporary dance is a style that blends elements of ballet, modern dance, jazz, and other movement techniques. Rather than following a fixed set of steps, it encourages creativity, self-expression, and exploring the many ways the body can move. Dancers use movement to tell stories, express emotions, and bring ideas to life.

It is both an art form and a great way to stay active, helping dancers build strength, flexibility, confidence, and creativity, all while having fun.

One of the best things about contemporary dance is that there isn’t one “correct” way to move. Every dancer brings their own personality and interpretation, making each performance unique.
