Rachel and Ben have both worked in the music industry for over 25 years as performers and around 15 years as music teachers. With vast amounts of gigging and teaching experience between them, they are in a great position to teach a wide range of instruments to a high standard, to any age group from beginner to intermediate/high. They are both fully CRB checked through Wigan Council but operate les
sons from a dedicated music room at home. R&B Music Tuition can offer drum kit lessons on an electric drum-kit, electric, acoustic or bass guitar lessons, vocal lessons, and keyboard/piano lessons. Rachel has an HND in Popular Music and Performing Arts as well as a Certificate in Education, Grade 8 singing, two singing diplomas and grade 5 theory. She can teach piano/keyboard from absolute beginner level through to grade 5 standard. She is also the Wigan Rep for London College of Music exam board. Ben has a BA Hons degree in Popular Music Studies, grade 8 drum-kit with honours, grade 5 music theory, grade 4 orchestral percussion and can teach electric/acoustic/bass guitar from beginner level through to grade 5 standard. Ben and Rachel performed as a popular function duo for many entertainment agencies in the Northwest from 2008 up to modern day, but with the recent Covid 19 restrictions, gigging seems to have come to an end for the time being. With previous students, Rachel and Ben have an outstanding record for exam success over the years. They can enter pupils into London College of Music for singing pop/theatre exams, with Rachel assisting in accompaniment and programme preparation, ABRSM and Rockschool. Ben has entered numerous students into Rockschool exams on both drums and guitar, all with passes at Merit level or above. Learning an instrument is not all about exams though, it is fun, a great way of inspiring a child/adult's learning, a fantastic way of expressing yourself, proven to be an enhancement for positive mental well-being, therapy or just learning something new as a hobby, interest and confidence building! Ben has also recorded demos for singers in the small studio environment we have, which includes some fantastic gear for making great sounding music, so if you or your child ever wanted to make a demo track/CD of your favourite song or material of your own, then get in touch about the facilities we have and how we might be able to help.
