Employment successes!
In its inaugural year, the Wigan Institute of Education has gone from strength to strength. With a record number of trainee teachers, 30% of them have already secured jobs in our partner schools and surrounding communities. To highlight a some:
Femi, after changing careers, has turned his passion for science into a teaching career; after gaining valuable experience across placements. He now begins his new role teaching foundation maths, this September, calling the journey “life-changing." ‘This whole course has been a life changing experience for me, I have gained so much from being part of the WIE and I feel blessed’.
Ryan, with a background in acting, set design and hospitality, followed his interest in practical arts into teaching Design Technology. After impressing during his placement, he has successfully secured a role within the Design Technology department of one of our partner schools. He describes his experience with Wigan Institute as his best in higher education. ‘It has all been so fantastic to be part of the WIE. This is my third experience of higher education, and it has been the best so far.’
