What a fantastic day Year 2 had at Wakehurst Place! We started the day with an exciting wellbeing trail and collected items from nature to create some artwork. After that, we took part in an interesting workshop, where we learnt all about different seeds and bulbs.

The children walked back through time and learnt just how far back prehistoric times actually were. They became hunter gatherers and learnt about prehistoric superstitions. The children explored Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age artefacts, handling replica helmets, jewellery, furs and swords! They saw bone needles, horns and tusks and even prehistoric bowls and spoons! Finally, the children took part in a Bronze Age burial! They pretended to bury a warrior chief with all the important artefacts and objects that he would have needed in the next life. A great day for Year 3.

On Tuesday, our Year 3 and 4 football team participated in a tournament at Holland Junior School. We were so impressed by their skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. Six schools took part and Godstone secured a fantastic 2nd place overall!

On the 3rd March 2026 25 talented dancers from Godstone Primary and Nursery School took part in the East Surrey Dance Festival at Chequers Mead Theatre.
Over 8 weeks of rehearsals the children helped to create and prepare 2 dances I’ll Be Strong and Rip It Up!
Together we worked creatively and shared all our ideas to put together two fantastic dances. Their performances were amazing and they wowed the crowd.
We received lots of positive feedback from others at the theatre during the day. We are very proud of their hard work, commitment and professionalism.
We can't wait to see what we can create next year!

Godstone Primary and Nursery School had an unforgettable evening at the Young Voices concert at the O2! Our pupils represented the school brilliantly, performing alongside thousands of other young singers in an incredible atmosphere. Their enthusiasm, confidence and teamwork truly shone on the night. We are extremely proud of the way they conducted themselves and the fantastic effort they put into their performance. It was an amazing experience for everyone involved and a memory that will last a lifetime!

It was a pleasure to welcome the Nite Owls back to Godstone Primary and Nursery School. We learnt a lot of interesting facts about owls, their eating habits, where they live and how they hunt for their prey. The children enjoyed watching the owls fly across the hall and some lucky children got to have a go at handling the owls. All children had the opportunity to have a photo with an owl as well.

Godstone Primary and Nursery School has recently been awarded an 'Equal Access Trophy' from Active Surrey for our continued commitment to girls' football. This recognises that the school offers equal access to both boys and girls for playing football both in school and in extra-curricular clubs. Additionally, the school entered two teams into a competition with other local schools and both were very successful and more importantly, thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The trophy will be displayed in the school office for everyone to see.

Year Five have visited the Houses of Parliament and explored some of the sites of London. They had a tour and a workshop to learn about the role of parliament and how the House of Commons and House of Lords work. It was really interesting and great fun.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Godstone Primary and Nursery School have achieved a Silver Games Mark Award for PE this year! This could not have been achieved without the amazing efforts of our staff and most importantly, the children who have worked brilliantly this year to help Godstone Primary and Nursery School make this wonderful achievement.
