🎃☕ Pumpkin Spice Latte Fun in Cherry Room! ☕🎃

Our Cherry children have been getting into the autumn spirit today with a wonderful pumpkin spice latte tuff tray, lovingly set up by Sophie! 🍂🧡

The children had so much fun exploring the different activities, from transporting water between pots and cups, to getting hands-on with the shaving foam “cream” and digging out the pumpkins! 🥄🎃

Through this playful, sensory experience, the children were developing their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and control, while exploring different textures and practising their pouring and scooping skills. They were also using their curiosity to investigate, experiment and learn through play! 🍁✨

Who knew making a pumpkin spice latte could be so much fun?! 😍☕🎃

🌻 Sunflower Fun! 🌻

Today we have been exploring the beautiful world of sunflowers! The children enjoyed taking a closer look at the different parts of a sunflower, talking about the petals, stem, leaves and centre. 🌻🔍

We then got creative and had a go at painting our very own sunflowers using watercolours. 🎨💛 The children really enjoyed experimenting with the colours and creating their own sunflower masterpieces!

A lovely day of exploring, learning and getting creative! 🌻✨

💃☀️ Dancing in the sunshine! ☀️💃

Today we were delighted to welcome Becky from Milford and Brook School of Dance to The Orchard for a special dance taster session for our Cherry and Apple children! 🩰✨

With the sun shining, we headed out into the garden and danced the morning away! 🌸 The children were so excited to join in, copying all the actions, moving to the music and having lots of fun along the way. 💕🎶

There were plenty of smiles, giggles and some fantastic dancing, and it was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and having such a thoroughly good time! 🥰

A huge thank you to Becky for such a fun and energetic session — we can’t wait to dance with you again! 💃🌟

🍂✨ Settling In & Getting Creative! ✨🍂

This week has all been about settling in, building relationships and getting to know all of our wonderful new children. 💛

Today, we headed outdoors to explore some beautiful autumn materials. The children collected acorns, leaves and twigs and used their imaginations to create their very own autumn faces! 🍁😊

We then practised our drawing skills by having a go at creating self-portraits. We looked carefully at our faces, comparing our different eye and hair colours and noticing all the things that make each of us unique. 👀🎨

It was lovely to see the children chatting, creating and getting to know one another as they explored together. 🥰

🍂 Hello September! 🍂

Can you believe it’s September already?! The summer holidays have flown by, and we’re getting ready to open our doors again on Monday 7th September for the start of a brand-new term and school year! 🎒✨

We hope all of our wonderful children, families, parents and carers have had a lovely summer filled with fun, adventures, precious family time and lots of happy memories. ☀️💛

We can’t wait to see all of our little ones again and hear about everything you’ve been getting up to! 🥰

Today we said goodbye to our wonderful Class of 2026 at their Graduation Ceremony. 🎓💛

Graduation Day is always one of the most bittersweet days of the year. While we're sad to see our school leavers move on, we're also incredibly proud of the kind, confident, curious and resilient little people they have become.

It has been a privilege to be part of each child's learning journey, watching them grow in confidence, build friendships, discover new skills and create so many special memories. We hope they leave us knowing just how amazing they are and feeling excited for the adventures that await them.

To our Class of 2026 – thank you for filling our preschool with laughter, smiles and unforgettable moments. We will miss every single one of you, but we know you are more than ready for your next chapter.

Good luck as you start your new schools in September. We can't wait to hear all about your new adventures. 🌟

⭐ Staff Appreciation Post ⭐

We honestly couldn't be prouder of our incredible staff team. Despite the extreme weather we've experienced, they have continued to show up every single day with smiles on their faces, putting your children's health, safety and wellbeing at the heart of everything they do.

Their dedication, care and commitment never go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for everything they do to make our preschool such a safe, happy and nurturing place for every child.

Please join us in showing our appreciation and thanking our brilliant, caring team for their hard work, kindness and unwavering dedication. We know they'll really appreciate your support! 💚

🌞 Hot weather is back this week! 🌞

A little reminder to help keep our preschoolers safe in the sunshine...

Please remember to send your child with:
🧴 Sun cream (applied before they arrive and named if they're bringing it in)
🧢 A sun hat
💧 A named water bottle

We've also got some very exciting news... 🎉

Our air conditioning is now fully installed and working throughout the preschool! ❄️ Today the children have been lovely and cool while indoors, and it has made such a difference.

Even better, this means we no longer need to close during periods of very hot weather, as we can keep everyone safe and comfortable inside. 😊

So this week's packing list is looking a little confused...

(Okay, maybe not quite that cold... but let's just say it's a lot cooler inside than outside! ❄️☀️)

Due to the continued hot weather, we will be extending our early closure for Friday 26th June.

🕐 Preschool will close at 1:15pm.
