Our nursery was full of creativity as the children took part in a hands-on arts and crafts activity 🎨✨ They carefully shaped their own clay pots, exploring different textures and practicing their fine motor skills. Once the pots had dried, the fun continued as they painted them in bright, vibrant colours, each one as unique as its creator.
This activity supports creativity, self-expression, and patience, while also helping to develop coordination and focus. The children were so proud of their finished pots and loved seeing their ideas come to life from start to finish.
A wonderful mix of imagination, concentration, and messy fun! 🖌️

🌍 Last week, the children explored the themes surrounding Earth Day and what it means to all of us.
We talked about the importance of caring for our planet and how even small actions can make a big difference. The children learned how we can all help keep our Earth clean and healthy, for ourselves, for others, and for the animals and creatures we share it with.
🚜 The highlight of the week was most definitely a visit from Tractor Tom! The children thoroughly enjoyed discussing what tractors are used for, then had the exciting opportunity to climb aboard, honking the horn and exploring all the dials and levers inside. What a fantastic hands-on experience!

Few weeks ago we had an amazing time celebrating World Book Day!

Our children had a fantastic time delving into stories all week long and especially loved their library visit, where they also built on their road safety awareness. A wonderful week filled with learning, reading, and a shared love of books and stories!

Sunny Day’s Charity event
Art, Cakes & Kindness for Lorenzo!
Over the past few weeks, our amazing children have been busy creating beautiful art on canvas using all sorts of fun techniques, from vegetable printing and hand painting to sponge and brush work! The staff joined in too, baking delicious cakes and getting creative alongside the children.
All this creativity was for a very special cause, raising money with Sunny Days Charity to support Lorenzo, a brave 1‑year‑old in our community who needs round‑the‑clock care and medical equipment.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our children, their families, and our gym members, we raised an amazing £625! Every penny will go towards helping Lorenzo and his family.
The children shone with confidence as they sold their cakes and proudly displayed their artwork in an exhibition outside the nursery, a wonderful community effort full of heart.
A huge thank you to everyone who supported, participated, and cheered the children on. Together, we’ve shown what kindness and teamwork can do!

What better way to enjoy the sunshine than getting outside and exploring the forest? ☀️🌿
At Tenderlinks Day Nursery, we took a group of our 2–4 year olds on a wonderful adventure to Thursley Common. The children enjoyed a lovely walk along the beautiful boardwalk, playing a fun game of “I Spy”… with a challenge to find a daffodil, some geese, and gorse, and they successfully spotted them all! 🌼🦢
We paused for a healthy snack, taking in the beautiful sensory surroundings and noticing all the little signs that spring is truly on its way 🌱
On the way back through the forest, the children had great fun exploring dens and searching for sticks, fir cones, and other natural treasures to bring back to nursery 🍃✨
A perfect day of fresh air, discovery, and adventure!

World Book Day Tenderlinks Elstead

What a fantastic day it was, with all the children and staff dressed up as their favourite book characters! We saw fierce dinosaurs, spooky witches, flying princess doctors, cute caterpillars, and so many more incredible outfits!

During the day, the children had fun listening to stories and sharing their books with each other. In the home corner, Super Potato was surrounded by some pesky peas that the children got to scoop and crush!

“Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs” remains a top favourite, leading to some wonderful role-playing sessions.
At breakfast, the children enjoyed a funny story titled “Ketchup in My Cornflakes,” and for snack, Paddington Bear shared his famous marmalade sandwiches.

And of course let’s not forget Suzie Songtime, where we went sailing on a yellow submarine with yellow scarfs and big smiles.

📚✨ National Storytelling Week at Tenderlinks Elstead ✨📚

Storytelling is a vital part of early childhood development, and at Tenderlinks Elstead we love bringing stories to life through play. By tuning into the children’s interests, we carefully choose books that capture their imagination and weave them into their everyday learning experiences.

This week, the children have been immersing themselves in some much-loved stories including The Three Little Pigs, Cows in the Kitchen, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Paper Dolls. Through role play, discussion and imaginative exploration, these stories have helped spark creativity, build language skills and deepen the children’s love of books.

🎶✨ People Around Us Week at Tenderlinks Streatham ✨🎶

Last week, we were delighted to welcome one of our wonderful parents into the nursery to lead a music session with the children. As part of our People Around Us week, the children explored sounds, rhythm and movement through music in a fun and engaging way.

There was plenty of singing, listening and laughter as the children joined in, building confidence, coordination and a love for music. A huge thank you to our parent volunteer for sharing their time and talent, experiences like these help bring learning to life. ❤️

Turning our baby room into an art installation

This morning our babies turned our room into an art display! We turned up the heating and popped them all on the floor in their nappies so that they could use all of their limbs to express themselves and explore the paint. The babies had such an exciting time and were covered head to toe 😂

🌿 Forest School Adventures at Godalming! 🍃

Our weekly Forest School sessions with Surrey Hills Forest School are an absolute delight for our little ones. This week, they dove into the spirit of teamwork, creating their own cozy den using small-world toys and natural treasures. The creativity didn’t stop there; scenes for Playmobil characters were beautifully crafted, and a thrilling bug hunt added an extra dash of excitement! 🐜🌳

Come rain or shine, our little explorers proved that there’s no such thing as bad weather—just bad clothing! 💧☔️ We firmly believe in the magic of learning outdoors, embracing every season. The joy captured in these moments is truly priceless. 🌈✨

🍏🌳🚜 Exploring Apple Tree Farm! 🚜🌳🍏

Today in Squirrels, Jonah's curiosity led us on a fantastic farm adventure! 🤠 We decided to create our own bustling animal farm, providing our little explorers with exciting opportunities to learn and play. 🐄🐖🐓

Our engaging tuff tray was filled with various textures and farm animals, sparking lively conversations about the animals, their unique sounds, and what they contribute to our lives.

As we played and talked, we shared stories of past farm visits and the animals we encountered. Laughter and cheerful animal impressions filled the air! This activity encouraged teamwork, sharing, and joyful expression among the children.

After our farmyard adventure, we gathered for circle time, where we sang farm-themed songs and enjoyed the delightful story of 'The Runaway Tractor.' It was a day brimming with learning and laughter, showing once again that at Tenderlinks Godalming, we explore, learn, and grow together! 😄📚

🦖🌋 Sensory Adventure with Squirrels! 🦕🌋

Last Friday, our inquisitive Squirrels at Tenderlinks Godalming embarked on an epic sensory journey that took them back to the time of dinosaurs and fiery volcanoes! 🦖🌋✨

Our mission was to make learning fun and engaging while igniting a spark for mathematics. We designed a sensory wonderland with a tuff tray filled with an array of captivating textures. Counting dinosaurs became a gateway for discussing their unique characteristics, from long necks to massive tails and four sturdy legs. 🦕📚💬

Within the tray, they discovered the delights of sand, the wonder of shaving foam, the charm of wooden slices, the intrigue of grassy pebbles, and the crinkly joy of tissue paper. It was a sensory feast that let them explore colors, textures, and spatial relationships. The atmosphere was filled with laughter as they delved into the foamy fun. Some were enchanted by the dinosaurs and volcanoes, while others reveled in the sensory symphony. Through imaginative play and rich conversations, our Squirrels learned and grew together. 🤗❤️

Oh, what a delightful autumn surprise it's been! The unusually warm weather has allowed our little adventurers to squeeze in some late-season beach visits. 🌅✨

They've returned to the nursery, brimming with excitement, ready to share their sandy tales with us. 🏄‍♀️🌊

In the spirit of keeping those beachy vibes alive, we transformed our garden into a sandy oasis with a tuff tray beach scene. 🏝️🐚

While this week may bring rain, last week's sunny adventures and our beachy garden retreat have left us with warm memories that will last throughout the season. ☔🍂
