🏉 Calton 8 – Highnam 8 🏉
An entertaining, fast-flowing, competitive game ended in a draw as our rugby season concludes.
The first half saw Calton dominate, scoring some great tries in the warm sunshine. Highnam came back in the second half and scored some impressive tries themselves.
Every player can be proud of the effort, teamwork, and determination they have shown this season – ⭐ STARS ⭐

🏉What an incredible day for Calton at the rugby festival! Taking on 6 other schools—including some familiar rivals and some new challenges—the team delivered a truly outstanding performance.

All the hard work and progress this season were on full display, with exciting, attacking rugby, fantastic teamwork, and some brilliant defensive efforts. The crowd was treated to entertaining play, amazing tries, and real determination throughout!

Spend a summer Saturday in the historic Gloucester Docks for the Better By Water event. This free, family-friendly event is designed to bring the community together to enjoy the health and wellbeing benefits of being by the water.

Activities include:
🛶 Paddle sports taster sessions
✏ Family crafts and interactive play zones
🏃‍♀Traditional sports day activities
🚲The Gloucester Gateway Trust smoothie bike
🎹The Music Works Bus
🚶Tall Tales of Gloucester Walk
⚓Explorers model raft making
⛵Model boat demonstrations
🦆Water play including hook-a-duck.

And plenty more to explore for all ages!

Adult Education in Gloucestershire have the following courses coming up imminently:

➡ Family 1st aid workshop
This workshop will cover basic first aid for families with pre-school age children, what to do in an emergency, an opportunity to try out practical skills and ask questions.

➡ 2 week Understanding A Neurodivergent child
A 2 week course looking at Autism and ADHD, how they can present and how to support someone with neurodivergence. This course provides a safe space to gain a deeper understanding of a neurodivergent child.

▪️ @ Brockworth Wednesday 10th and 17th June 8.45am – 11.30am each week.

➡ One day Understanding A Neurodivergent child @ Gloucester Cathedral
The Chapter House has been booked for this whole day workshop looking at Autism and ADHD, how they can present and how to support someone with neurodivergence. This course provides a safe space to gain a deeper understanding of a neurodivergent child.

'The Holiday Activity and Food programme (HAF) returns this summer with lots of fun activities and delicious food available for children and families from 22 July to 1 September.

HAF activities are available for children and young people who receive benefits-related free school meals.

What a game, Calton secured a very well-deserved win against a strong and quick Upton team! Some beautiful tries were scored, the team worked their socks off with tackling, supporting the player, and some great running lines. The communication was excellent, and it was truly a fantastic performance.

We move on to our last game next week, home v Highnam

Calton 10 Heron 11

Another close game! Calton faced a strong, well-organised Heron team. Calton continued to produce their best and caused Heron lots of problems. Heron’s defence was strong, and unfortunately, Calton ran out of time to find a winning try. Whilst the score line hasn’t gone our way this season, we keep building on the positives as a team 😊
