Where could Gloucester Sports Education take you?

Day two of sharing careers you could gain from completing one of our programmes.

The second success story we want to share is former FSE student Rob George (Robert John). Since leaving FSE, Rob has become a PE teacher and is the current Head of Year 7 at his school.

‘Attending Forest Sports Education not only provided me with the next steps to get onto the PGCE at Loughborough University, but the small class sizes meant I had all the support I needed. Through practical coaching in local primary schools, I strengthened my subject knowledge across a range of sports and built strong communication through regular interactions with parents, pupils, and staff. Those experiences built my leadership, organization, and professionalism, which I carried into university, my PGCE training, and now my role as a PE teacher and Head of Year 7.’

Where could Gloucester Sports Education take you?

Ahead of our open evening on Wednesday 21st October we thought we would share a few stories of where our programmes can take you, showcasing a few of our former students from our sister campus Forest Sports Education (as GSE has only started this year).

The first student is Charlie James Hull who has gone on to work for Prostars as a senior sports coach and Head of Football and Events.

Check out what Charlie said about how FSE helped him with his next steps:

“I started my journey at the age of 16, joining Forest Sports Education, where I was able to combine my studies with valuable coaching experience through their partnership with Prostars.

After completing two years at college, I progressed onto the university degree programme while continuing to coach part-time. I have since graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Sports Coaching & Development and now work full-time with Prostars as Head of Football & Events.
(Dealing with everything football & managing all sporting events for schools to participate in).

The pathway gave me the opportunity to develop both academically and practically, gaining the experience, knowledge and confidence that has helped prepare me for the role I have today.”

It’s been a great week for our learners where they have had access to a workshop led by an LTA Tennis level 4 instructor and they have had Prostars Enrichment Officer Dan Rackley deliver and enrichment day to our learners (action shots to follow).

⭐ Tennis Workshop today ⭐

Today our learners got to experience a 3 hour practical Tennis workshop delivered by a qualified Tennis instructor!

This experience will help them when they begin to deliver sessions in Primary Schools!

We provide more than just a course at Gloucester Sports Education. We provide them with a programme which helps to prepare them for the world of work!

Remember we have our first open evening on WEDNESDAY 21st OCTOBER.

This afternoon Prostars manager Josh Carter delivered a volleyball session to our learners. The focus was on how learners could adapt practices to be delivered in primary schools which supports their Developing Coaching Skills Unit!
