What an amazing evening! 🌙✨
We were so lucky to have such a clear view of the solar eclipse tonight, with barely a cloud in sight. We headed to The Aviator at the airport to watch it, and it really was incredible.
I absolutely loved seeing how much curiosity it sparked in the girls — watching them experience something so special, asking questions and taking it all in. Moments like this are such a lovely reminder that learning doesn’t just happen in a classroom. ❤️
More than anything, it was just one of those really simple, special family evenings that I hope the girls will remember for a long time. I know we certainly will.
Feeling very grateful that we got to experience it together. 🌙✨
🌿 The new Curiosity Classroom website is LIVE! 🌿
I’ve been working behind the scenes to create a website that really reflects what The Curiosity Classroom is all about – supportive, engaging and hands-on learning, tailored to the individual child.
You can now find everything in one place, including information about:
✨ After-school tuition
✨ 1:1 and small-group sessions
✨ Home education support
✨ Alternative provision and daytime tuition
✨ Holiday sessions
✨ And a little more about me and the approach behind The Curiosity Classroom
I’d absolutely love you to have a look around and let me know what you think. 💚

My approach is always to start with the child – where they are now, what they need next and how they learn best – while helping them build the skills and knowledge they need within the curriculum.

We've had a few enquiries about eclipse glasses after some information online suggested libraries were giving them away. Unfortunately, Gloucestershire Libraries do not have eclipse glasses available
However, why not make your own pinhole camera using simple materials from around the house as part of your Library Challenge tasks! It's a fun way to get creative and learn more about how eclipses work 🌙
If you're planning to watch the eclipse, please make sure you follow official safety guidance and use appropriate viewing methods. Government guidance can be found here: https://ukhsa.blog.gov.uk/2026/07/23/how-to-watch-the-solar-eclipse-safely-this-summer/

What a brilliant way to kick-start the summer holiday group sessions! ☀️
Today we enjoyed two fantastic workshops—exploring melting in our Science session and putting our money skills to the test in Money Matters. Lots of hands-on learning, discussion and fun! 🧪💰
There are still a few spaces available on some upcoming sessions, so please get in touch for more information. 😊

Does phonics sometimes feel like a completely different language? 🤯
Digraphs… trigraphs… split digraphs… open syllables… 🤔
If you've ever sat with your child during reading and thought, "I have no idea what any of that means!" — you're definitely not alone. Most of us weren't taught to read this way, so it's no surprise the terminology can feel overwhelming.
I've put together this simple glossary to explain some of the most common phonics terms you'll hear from school, so you can feel more confident when supporting your child at home.
📚 Save this post so you can come back to it whenever you need a quick reminder.
💬 Are there any other school words or phrases that leave you scratching your head? Let me know in the comments and I'll explain those next! 😊

Who's already heard, "Can I have a snack?" about 47 times... and it's only day one of the summer holidays? 🤣
It's funny how they can manage a whole school day with lunch and a piece of fruit... but at home they suddenly need a snack every 10 minutes! 🍎🍿
Hit me with your best snack ideas for primary-aged children! Bonus points if they're quick, healthy-ish, and don't disappear in one bite. 👇😂
This year, I've had the privilege of supporting 48 amazing children and their families. Every single one has been on their own unique journey, and watching their confidence grow, seeing those lightbulb moments, celebrating their successes, and helping them through the challenges has been an absolute honour.
The achievements this year haven't just been measured in reading ages, maths scores or school reports. They've been in the smiles when something finally clicks, the resilience to keep trying, the confidence to have a go, and the pride each child has felt in themselves.
Thank you to every family who has trusted me to be part of your child's journey. Your support means the world, and I never take that trust for granted.
I couldn't be prouder of every single child. Wishing you all a wonderful, well-deserved summer. I can't wait to see what next year brings. 🌈✨
