A little shout-out to Playful Learning Games - Learning Resources for their brilliant Maths Starter activities ✨

We’ve really enjoyed using these in The Curiosity Classroom. They’re fun, engaging and great for getting children talking, thinking and involved straight away, which makes them perfect as a quick maths warm-up before moving on to the main learning.

A lovely little addition to our maths sessions! 🧮💛

Leftover packaging + a child’s imagination = a book nook! 📚✨

My 7-year-old created this completely independently, with no adult direction or suggestion. She spotted some leftover packaging and decided to transform it into her own little book nook.

It was such a lovely reminder of the power of truly child-led play. Children take inspiration from the world around them, make connections, solve problems and turn ordinary objects into something completely new.

There was no planned activity, no instructions and no end goal - just imagination, creativity and the freedom to explore an idea.

Sometimes the best learning happens when we simply give children the space to create. 💛

Getting resources ready and bringing learning to life! 👾✨

I’ve been busy laminating and setting up these brilliant Feed the Monster activities from Literacy Avenue, and they’ve been a huge hit with my learners.

From preparing the resources to watching the children use them, these hands-on activities make grammar much more engaging, interactive and fun. They’re a fantastic way to practise skills such as contractions, conjunctions and other word classes in a way that feels playful and accessible.

I love using resources that encourage children to get involved, stay focused and enjoy their learning - and Literacy Avenue has so many brilliant games and activities to do just that! 💛

What an amazing evening! 🌙✨

We were so lucky to have such a clear view of the solar eclipse tonight, with barely a cloud in sight. We headed to The Aviator at the airport to watch it, and it really was incredible.

I absolutely loved seeing how much curiosity it sparked in the girls — watching them experience something so special, asking questions and taking it all in. Moments like this are such a lovely reminder that learning doesn’t just happen in a classroom. ❤️

More than anything, it was just one of those really simple, special family evenings that I hope the girls will remember for a long time. I know we certainly will.

Feeling very grateful that we got to experience it together. 🌙✨

We've had a few enquiries about eclipse glasses after some information online suggested libraries were giving them away. Unfortunately, Gloucestershire Libraries do not have eclipse glasses available

However, why not make your own pinhole camera using simple materials from around the house as part of your Library Challenge tasks! It's a fun way to get creative and learn more about how eclipses work 🌙

What a brilliant way to kick-start the summer holiday group sessions! ☀️

Today we enjoyed two fantastic workshops—exploring melting in our Science session and putting our money skills to the test in Money Matters. Lots of hands-on learning, discussion and fun! 🧪💰
