We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Cook to join our vibrant childcare team! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing meals tailored to young children’s dietary needs, ensuring a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, and supporting the overall well-being of our little learners. Your enthusiasm for healthy food preparation and culinary creativity will help foster positive eating habits and contribute to a nurturing atmosphere where children feel cared for and energized.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook balanced, age-appropriate meals and snacks for children in accordance with dietary guidelines and nutritional standards
Follow food safety protocols to maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment at all times
Assist in planning weekly menus that incorporate a variety of healthy ingredients and accommodate special dietary requirements
Ensure proper storage, handling, and labeling of all food items to prevent contamination or spoilage
Collaborate with childcare staff to serve meals efficiently and support mealtime routines that promote positive social interactions
Monitor food inventory levels, place orders as needed, and maintain accurate records of food supplies
Adhere to all health regulations related to food preparation, serving, and sanitation practices
Qualifications
Proven experience in food preparation or cooking, preferably within a childcare or educational setting
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Experience working in a kitchen environment with culinary skills focused on meal preparation for children
Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining flexibility for special dietary needs
Excellent organizational skills with attention to cleanliness and detail
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and caregivers

Pay: £12.71-£14.50 per hour-depending on experience
