Flashback Friday 📸 | Belgium Trip 2018 🇧🇪

In November 2018, our students travelled to Belgium for an unforgettable educational visit, exploring some of the most significant sites connected to the First and Second World War.

Throughout the trip, students visited a number of war memorials, cemeteries, museums and historic battlefields, gaining a deeper understanding of the sacrifices made by those who served. These visits brought history to life, providing a powerful opportunity to reflect on the human stories behind the events studied in the classroom.

Standing at memorials such as this one, students were encouraged to consider the lasting impact of conflict and the importance of remembrance. The experience offered valuable lessons in history, citizenship and reflection, leaving a lasting impression on all who took part.

As we look back on this memorable trip, we are reminded of the importance of preserving these stories for future generations.

We are proud to share this feedback from our recent International Baccalaureate inspection:

"The school’s founding narrative is profound and is naturally connected to the values of acceptance and belonging for all."

This recognition reflects the commitment of our staff, students, families and wider community in creating a school culture where every individual is valued, supported and encouraged to thrive.

Yesterday, our Year 11 students visited Cardiff and were stopped by Heart Radio to share their views on one of the biggest talking points affecting young people today: the impact of social media and whether restrictions or bans are the right approach.

The discussion sparked a range of thoughtful opinions, with students sharing their perspectives on the role social media plays in everyday life, the benefits it can bring, and the challenges it can create for young people.

It is a topic that continues to divide opinion across the country, and we were proud to see our students speaking confidently, respectfully, and thoughtfully about such an important issue.

What do you think? Is limiting social media use the right move, or should the focus be on education and responsible use?

🍉Still life painting🍉

Year 6 put their artistic skills to the test in their still life painting lesson this week, carefully capturing every detail of their fruit arrangements. The best part? Enjoying the fruits of their labour afterwards! A well-earned treat after some fantastic artwork.

🏅 Sports Day 2026 🏅

Last week, our students headed to the Prince of Wales Stadium in Cheltenham for an exciting Sports Day filled with energy, determination, and plenty of memorable moments.

The day began with a rather wet start, but the clouds soon cleared and the sunshine arrived just in time for the events to get underway. Students took part in a wide range of athletics activities, including shot put, javelin, hurdles, sprint races, long jump, triple jump, and high jump.

Throughout the day, students demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship, resilience, and enthusiasm, cheering one another on and giving their best in every event. From impressive personal achievements to plenty of fun and laughter, it was a wonderful day enjoyed by all.

Well done to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a success!

Flashback Friday 🍫

Today we're looking back at a delicious chapter in our school's history, when we had our very own chocolatier on site creating handmade chocolates.

Students had the unique opportunity to see the chocolate-making process up close, from carefully crafting designs and moulding chocolates to producing beautifully finished treats ready for sale. It was a fantastic way to experience the creativity, precision and business skills involved in artisan chocolate production.

The chocolates quickly became a favourite, with each piece individually crafted and featuring eye-catching designs that looked almost too good to eat! As well as creating a high-quality product, the project gave students valuable insight into food production, entrepreneurship and customer service.

Looking back, it's wonderful to remember the talent, dedication and sweet success that came from having our own chocolatier as part of the school community.

Flashback Friday: Our First Wilderness Centre Visit 🌿

Taking a trip back to 2016, when some of the very first students of Wotton House visited our Wilderness Centre for what would become many memorable outdoor learning experiences.

During the visit, students worked together to create a vibrant colour wheel using natural materials and paint, exploring creativity, teamwork, and the world around them. Activities like these encouraged curiosity, problem-solving, and a hands-on approach to learning that has always been an important part of life at Wotton House.

Looking back at photographs like this is a wonderful reminder of how far the school has come and the experiences that helped shape our early years. We wonder if any of our former students remember taking part in this activity!
