Happy Summer from all of the staff at PATA Elmbridge Under Fives Playgroup
We will return to playgroup on Wednesday 2nd September
PATA@ Elmbridge Under Fives is a friendly, local community playgroup situated in the grounds of Elmbridge primary school.
We have separate play rooms for our rising 3’s children and Preschool children caring for children from 2years old to school age. We accept all childcare funding and vouchers. We provide a safe, secure and rich environment for the children to learn and explore, encouraging the children to form strong relationships with peers and familiar adults. We enable the children to feel safe, happy and secure, building on their confidence to become independent and resilient risk takers.

Learning to wipe your own bottom is an essential part of using the potty or toilet independently.
For some children, not being able to wipe independently prevents them from feeling able to use the toilet when away from their parents/carers. This can lead to stool withholding, which can begin the vicious circle of constipation.
Many of these children also feel unable to use the toilet for a wee, for fear of a poo popping out, resulting in wee withholding.
For some, bottom wiping is an easily achieved skill. For others, it’s more of a struggle.
Learning bottom wiping: a step-by-step guide - ERIC Bottom wiping is an essential part of toilet training: find tips to help children learn.
