We have some very sad news to share, we have had to say β€˜goodbye’ to our much-loved nursery rabbit, Ned. ❀️🐰

Many of you will remember Ned, who has been part of the Jelly Bears family from the very beginning. Born in March 2018, just before we opened our doors in April 2018, he truly grew up alongside our nursery and became such a special part of daily life here.

Ned was loved by so many children, families and staff over the years. He had the softest, cuddliest nature, loved a gentle cuddle, and always managed to make us smile with his cheeky personality. He brought so much joy to everyone who met him.

Today, we will be talking to the children in an age-appropriate and gentle way about Ned, giving them the opportunity to ask questions, share their memories and express their feelings if they wish.

We know many of our Jelly Bears families have fond memories of Ned too, and we wanted to let you know of his passing. Thank you, Ned, for all the love, laughter and cuddles you've given us over the years. You will always hold a very special place in our hearts and will never be forgotten.
Sleep tight, Ned. πŸŒˆπŸ’™πŸ°πŸ»

Jelly Beans have been learning all about Wimbledon and some of it's traditions -the royal attendanceπŸ«…πŸ‘Έ, fruity drinks, the long queues, strawberries and cream, and Rufus the hawk.πŸ“ We have been playing tennis regularly in our Sporty Stars sessions with Jenny so have been able to make our own connections.🎾

We have been finding out about the Rufus the hawk, who is the chief bird scarer at Wimbledon.πŸ¦…

"He's a bird of prey. He likes a plate of chicken". IE

"They peck seeds and Rufus chases them away" DS

" Birds like to eat slugs and snails. He has a big beak" OC

We have been practising our balancing, catching and serving skills in our tennis sessions and work very well as a team, listening carefully and following instructions.🎾

We enjoyed our own Wimbledon themed snack in the garden!🐻🐾

Summer is on its way! β˜€οΈ

Jelly Babies and Tots enjoyed a local outing to Lidl to help with our shopping list.

We collected some bread for our tea, some extra sun cream to protect us from the sun, and some juicy strawberries!

We explored the world around us by observing and naming a variety of vehicles. We saw lots of coaches, buses and lorries! This was particularly exciting. πŸšŒπŸš› We also learnt about road safety, waiting for the green man before crossing the road!

We surprised our Jelly Bears family with some yummy ice lollies! These were perfect, and helped us to cool down on a warm day. We even shared some with the staff!🍦

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend! 🐻🐾

Jelly Bears Day Nursery Turns 8!πŸ₯³πŸŽ‚

This week, the children of Jelly Bears have embraced the celebrations of our birthday by taking part in activities, games, and crafts in preparation of our garden party!

We decorated party hats to wear for our Tea Party, and balloons to display.

We have been celebrating all week, but some of our highlights include - Jelly Beans dancing along to music and engaged in party games such as 'hokey-cokey', Jelly Tots explored soft play and Jelly Babies had a great time in the ball pit with sensory lights!

On our birthday, we had a nursery garden party. We wore our party hats and enjoyed some tasty food together in the wonderful sunshine!

We sang 'Happy Birthday' and practiced counting up to 8.

Congratulations to Kim and the team. Happy 8th Birthday, we look forward to celebrating many more!!🐻🐾

Jelly Bears had a cracking time enjoying lots of egg-citing and egg-cellent activities to celebrate Easter! πŸ₯šπŸ°

Jelly Beans have been developing our physical skills by making some delicious Easter nests; we had an egg & spoon race with our friends and we were egg-static to find eggs hiding in the garden on our Easter egg hunt!

We have also been developing our number recognition and counting skills further by matching the correct number of eggs to the egg-act number of pictures printed on the egg shells!

Jelly Tots explored Easter Sticking, Exploring eggs in water – learning how to fill and empty (and splash!), and we created chicks using forks to develop our use of cutlery.

Jelly Babies used eggs to make marks on paper using paint. We explored colours and mark making! We used our fine motor skills to pop open the eggs, and attempt to push it back closed.

We hope you had a Hoppy Easter Everyone!🐻🐾
