An amazing set of Golden Children who have worked so hard this week. Well done to all.

We also celebrated those children who did an amazing amount of Reading for our Read-a-thon and raised lots of money for those less fortunate than themselves. We are so thankful that we have such good readers and such generous families.

Reception classes Willow and Oak have had the best start to their school journey at FCIA.
The staff have been so very proud of how quickly they have settled and learnt the new routines of big school.

Starting with the topic of All About Me has helped the children to get to know each other as well as helping them to learn how to make new friends.
We have learnt our first phonics sounds, practiced our maths, had our first PE sessions, visited forest fun and even attended our first worships already!
Of course, we have also had plenty of play opportunities and have loved getting to know our new environments.

The children have settled in really well to nursery and we have all got to know each other over the past few weeks. Now we are learning all about the story Dear Zoo, where a little boy asks the zoo for a pet and none of them are suitable for lots of different reasons. The animals have to be sent back to the zoo until a perfect pet is found! The children have engaged in lots of activities about wild animals, size and shape, receiving letters themselves with clues enclosed to help them guess the animal!

Interactives have started the new school year in our new home, in Cherry class. We have enjoyed meeting our new friends at Breakfast and After School Club and have been making the most of the warm weather playing outside. We have also welcomed our reception children who have all settled in well.

A wonderful job to see so many children showing Golden Behaviour.

Whether it's manners at lunch or a wonderful pencil grip in class we try to spot all of the positive behaviours across the week.

We are proud of everyone, but a special shout out goes to our Reception children who attended their very first Worship and showed us all of their Golden Sitting!

The FCIA Reading Bus has been decorated!

We hope you like the new design as it incorporates some familiar faces as well as our Christian Values.

A Massive thank you to Howard Tenens who financed a large part of these additions and who arranged the whole installation.

The children have settled well into Pre School. They have enjoyed making new friends and exploring a range of activities. They have particularly enjoyed going out on the playground and climbing on our gross motor equipment in the garden.

🐻🎹 KS1 Buzz Day Adventure! 🎹🐻

What a truly BEAR-rilliant day our KS1 children have had today!

This morning, we arrived at school to find a very mysterious delivery... a suitcase! 🧳 However, when we opened it, it was completely empty apart from a note. The note explained that some important items had gone astray and asked for our help to find them.

Our children set off on an exciting quest around the school and discovered a collection of clues: 🌹 a red rose, 📸 a cherished photograph, 🎟️ a golden theatre ticket and 🎀 a black bow tie. We returned to our classrooms to think carefully about what these mysterious objects might mean.

Then, suddenly, beautiful music filled the air! 🎶 Following the sound into the hall, we were amazed to discover... A BEAR! 🐻

Not just any bear, but a bear who played the piano! The children were captivated and loved having the opportunity to ask the bear questions about his incredible adventures.

Inspired by the story, we got creative and worked together to make different scenes, including towering skyscrapers, forest trees, and even our very own bear and piano. 🎨🏙️🌳🐻🎹

The musical fun continued as we listened to the bear's music and explored playing along using both tuned and untuned percussion instruments. 🥁🎵 The children showed fantastic creativity, enthusiasm and teamwork throughout the day.

What a wonderful day of mystery, music, imagination and learning we all had!
