Denmark Road are again celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE results, with students achieving exceptional outcomes. 👏

Nearly half of all grades awarded were at 9-8, with over 71% of grades awarded at Grades 9-7 demonstrating the hard work, resilience and commitment shown by our young people and staff.

Headteacher, Claire Giblin, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with this year’s GCSE results. These achievements are the result of dedication from our students, the transformational teaching of our staff, and the continual support from families. To see such a high proportion of top grades across the cohort is truly inspiring. I am particularly proud of the fact that over a third of our students have achieved an attainment average of grade 8 and above across their subjects – a phenomenal accomplishment.”

This success has also led to another record number of applications to Denmark Road’s Sixth Form, which is once again oversubscribed. Students will now progress to an ambitious programme of A Levels, ensuring they are well-prepared for the next stage of their academic journey.

“Our Sixth Form continues to thrive, grow and go from strength to strength, with its popularity increasing year on year. We are delighted to continue the education of our own Year 11 students, alongside new students joining us from across the local area,” added Mr Yau, Assistant Headteacher of Key Stage 5.

Results and Enrolment for Denmark Road Sixth Form tomorrow 20th August

👋 For current Denmark Road Year 11 students:
You are welcome to collect your results in the Sixth Form Centre (6103 upstairs), please enter via the Sixth Form gate at the following times.
🔹11Be – 8.30am
🔹11H – 8.40am
🔹11K – 8.50am
🔹11M – 9.00am
🔹11Ba – 9.10am
You will be able to enrol immediately after collecting your results as long as you met the entry requirements.

🆕 For students enrolling from other schools:
Enrolment for applicants from other schools will begin at 10:30am. Our Sixth Form Centre is located by the Sixth Form Gate on Denmark Road. There will be signs to direct you and staff will be on hand to help direct you if needed.
Please ensure that:
🔹You bring a copy of your GCSE results.
🔹You have completed the pre-enrolment form on Applicaa prior to arrival.

Summer Club ☀️
Our biggest ever Summer Club is off to a fab start! Students have a packed few days planned with activities from STEM Outreach Gloucestershire, the River and Canal Trust, LAMDA and more. Today has included getting to know you games and fun with Born Free Safari Rescue.

Students secure excellent destinations with fantastic A Level results 🙌

Year 13 students and staff at Denmark Road High School are celebrating excellent results today. Nearly a third of all grades awarded were at the very top grades of A* and A. Mr Yau, Assistant Headteacher for Sixth Form was delighted to celebrate with students “I’m so proud of all our students and so pleased to share their successes with them today. They've worked exceptionally hard and I am delighted that they will now be able to pursue their next steps.”

A significant number of students achieved straight As; with three or more A levels at Grade A*/A. Ruby C (A*,A,A), who secured her place at Oxford, shared “I am feeling absolutely thrilled to have received the results I was hoping for today. Now that I have a confirmed place to study a course I adore at a university that seemed like an unlikely dream just last year, I am assured that hard work can pay off. However, this result would not have been at all possible without the unfailing support and enthusiasm of my teachers, so I would like to express immense gratitude to those who have invested so much in helping assure my future.”

Sarah W (A,A,A) added: “Results day went really well for me and that's a testament to the kind of place Denmark is. The environment and the support I have had has given me the chance to achieve what I have so I am really grateful for my two years here. I am looking forward to my next steps."

Aliya P (A*,A*,A*) who is looking forward to studying at Birmingham University said, “I am absolutely over the moon with my grades, and I am very thankful towards the staff at DRHS for supporting me endlessly over the last two years to achieve them! I am living proof that hard work and determination DOES pay off!”.

Headteacher Claire Giblin said “These fantastic results are a richly deserved reward for our dedicated, hard-working students. Our students are going on to study a wide array of degrees in fields as diverse as Medicine, Law, Computer Science, Psychology and Engineering. Others are going on to highly sought after degree apprenticeships with companies such as Airbus, Bishop Fleming and Hazlewoods. I am also delighted that the results today recognises the efforts of our teaching and support staff who have done so much to help and encourage them. We are proud of the achievements of our students during their time at Denmark Road Sixth Form”.

Top House Points 🌟
Our students who have achieved the most House Points overall this year were invited to celebrate their success with Miss Giblin and Mr Edwards in the school's garden. Well done to Ines, Ruth, Amelia, Indi and Caitlin who were our top 5 House Point achievers in the school. Well done also to Iris, Lexie, Ruth, Zainab, Divine, Rish*ta, Audrey and Mitchell who were in the top two students in their year group.
