⭐July 2026 Newsletter - Number 3⭐

Dear Parents and carers of Coopers Edge School,

And just like that... another school year has flown by! One minute we were hunting for missing jumpers and practising times tables, and the next we're wondering where on earth the last few months have gone.

Our amazing Year 6 pupils are currently out on the field, throwing axes, bouncing on bungee jumps, and zooming down a gigantic slide – quite the way to celebrate their final day with us!

It's a treat they have thoroughly earned after a fantastic year. It only seems like yesterday they were in Reception, racing around on trikes, splashing in puddles, and proudly showing off their latest muddy masterpiece.

Now, somehow, they're ready to spread their wings and begin an exciting new adventure at secondary school. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them and wish them all the very best as they close this chapter and start the next.

Good luck, Year 6 – although maybe save the axe-throwing for the activity field!

I want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who makes Coopers Edge such a special place.

To our parents and carers – thank you for your unwavering support, encouragement and positivity, particularly over the past few weeks. Schools thrive when we work together, and your kindness, understanding and partnership make an enormous difference. We genuinely couldn't do it without you.

To our incredible Coopers Edge pupils – thank you for bringing your curiosity, energy and never-ending enthusiasm for learning into school every single day. You continue to amaze us with your resilience, creativity, laughter and determination. Watching you grow in confidence and character is the greatest privilege of all.

And to our dedicated staff – thank you for your hard work, commitment and care. Behind every lesson, every smile, every encouraging word and every memorable moment is a team of people who go above and beyond for our children. Their passion and dedication are the heartbeat of Coopers Edge School.

As we head into the summer holidays, I hope every member of our school community finds time to slow down, recharge the batteries and make wonderful memories with family and friends. Whether you're travelling far and wide or simply enjoying the garden with an ice cream in hand, I wish you a summer filled with fun, laughter and sunshine (fingers crossed!).

Before we say goodbye for the summer, I have just a few gentle challenges for our pupils:

· Read every day – books are passports to incredible adventures.

· Get outside every day – explore, play, run, climb, discover and enjoy the fresh air.

· Be kind – kindness costs nothing, but it means everything.

Most importantly, please stay safe, look after yourselves and each other, and come back in September refreshed, smiling and ready for another exciting year together.

Thank you once again for being part of our wonderful Coopers Edge family. Have a fantastic summer holiday—we can't wait to welcome you back for another year of learning, laughter and new adventures.

With warmest wishes,

Siobhan Price

As this incredible year wraps up, whether it was your first or your last, we hope it brought you joy and growth.

Wishing you an unforgettable summer!

We can't wait to welcome everyone back in September — well, almost everyone...

To our wonderful Year 6...

As you leave Coopers Edge and begin a brand-new adventure, we want you to know how proud we are of each and every one of you.

You arrived with curious minds and big dreams, and over the years you've grown into kind, thoughtful, confident young people. You've learnt lessons far beyond reading, writing and maths—you've learnt how to be good friends, to show courage when things felt difficult, and to keep trying even when the path wasn't easy.

You've filled our classrooms with laughter, our playground with happy memories, and our school with kindness. Whether you were helping others, performing on stage, scoring a goal, solving a tricky problem or simply making someone smile, you've helped make Coopers Edge a special place.

Now it's time for you to spread your wings. Secondary school will bring exciting opportunities, new friendships and fresh challenges. There may be moments that feel uncertain, but remember how much you've already achieved. Believe in yourselves, be kind to others, and never stop being curious.

Although you'll be moving on, you will always be part of the Coopers Edge family. The memories you've made here will stay with us, just as we hope your time here will stay with you.

So walk forward with confidence, follow your dreams, and be proud of the amazing young people you've become. We can't wait to see all the wonderful things your future holds.

Good luck, Year 6. Shine brightly, be yourselves, and remember that wherever life takes you, Coopers Edge will always be cheering you on.

⭐️ GOLDEN STARS ⭐️

This morning, we celebrated all of the amazing achievements that have happened across our school year!

We celebrated perseverance, hard work, growth and humour, and all the fabulousness in-between.

A huge well done to all for the year but especially those who received their very own golden star!

A huge thank you to all of our Battle of the Businesses teams for taking part in 2026! 🏃🥄🎉

There were plenty of laughs, lots of fun, and more than a little sweat as teams tackled the egg-and-spoon race, running race, skipping race, sack race, and what we'll generously call a relay race! 😄

Together, you raised an incredible £436 while bringing even more excitement to what was already a very special Sports Day at Coopers Edge School.

Thank you all for your enthusiasm, generosity, and team spirit. You're amazing, and we can't wait to see you back next year! 💙 Well done Atlas Camp - BOTB 2026 WINNERS
Murdock & Wasley Estate Agents Boxcut Barbers, PTA and our CES

The England squad might have to wait a little longer... but Coopers Edge School are ready for Battle of the Businesses!

Our Team
⭐ Mr Sadler – Our captain. A Battle of the Businesses veteran who's competed in every event... but has built quite the reputation for scoring the occasional own goal! If he can keep both feet on the ground this year, we might just have a chance! 😅⚽
⭐ Mr Childs – Making his BOTB debut. Hopefully he settles in quicker than a new England signing... and we get him back afterwards with a stronger voice than Harry Kane!
⭐ Mrs Brown – Our secret weapon. Off the bench quicker than England's opener against DR Congo, and with more determination than Declan Rice chasing a loose ball. The opposition won't know what's hit them. 🔥

Our mission? Bring the trophy home... and take down every other business in our path.
And to our very own PTA... 👀
We're coming for you! 😄

No VAR. No extra time. Just bragging rights, plenty of laughs, and hopefully a winning performance.

COME ON COOPERS EDGE! 🏆🦁 It's coming home!

We need your support to get a 2 point advantage - This will be awarded to the business who raises the most money by the start of the race, please see our QR Code attached or follow the links below:

Sports Day is tomorrow! 🏃☀️

Many of you have been asking what the plan is, and thank you for your patience.

Deciding what to do with the weather is never easy, and I know that whatever decision is made won't suit everyone. After carefully considering the forecast and putting measures in place to keep everyone safe and comfortable, I'm delighted to say that our plan is to go ahead with Sports Day!

Here's how the morning will look:

9.15am – Gates open
9.45am – Races begin
Approximately 11.00am – House winners announced
11.15am – Battle of the Businesses (instead of the planned 1.30pm).
11.40am – Family picnic begins

We've set up gazebos on the field, and you're very welcome to bring your own if you'd like to secure an extra shady spot. The sheltered areas outside each classroom will also be available throughout the morning.

Our aim is to have all children back inside school by 12.30pm. However, as always, the children's wellbeing comes first, so if I feel the heat is becoming too much or conditions become unsafe, we'll bring everyone inside earlier.

There will be a water refill station available throughout the morning in the Year 1 classroom (the classroom furthest to the left when looking from the field), so please make sure everyone brings a named water bottle.

Whilst our biggest priority is, of course, looking after the children, we also want to make sure our wonderful parents and families stay safe too! Please remember to bring plenty of water, apply sun cream before you arrive, and bring hats, umbrellas or anything else that will help keep you cool in the sunshine.

Thank you, as always, for your support. We can't wait to see the children giving their all, cheering one another on and making lots of happy memories together.

Here's to a fantastic Sports Day 2026—let's make it one to remember!
