The Reading Doctor, Gloucester

The Reading Doctor provides trauma-informed, one-to-one English tuition for children and young people receiving education through EOTAS (Education Otherwise Than At School) or attending Alternative Provision settings.

Our provision is designed for:

-Pupils named in EHCPs who require specialist English support
-Learners in Alternative Provisions, PRUs, or on reduced timetables
-Children out of school due to anxiety, SEND, or school-based trauma
-Young people accessing EOTAS packages funded by the Local Authority
-Pupils included in the Local Offer requiring one-to-one, evidence-based literacy and English intervention

What We Provide:
We offer one-to-one tuition in:

-Reading (decoding, fluency, comprehension)
-Writing (sentence structure, vocabulary, cohesion)
-Spelling and grammar
-Functional English skills
-Confidence-building and engagement with texts

All sessions are:

-Delivered by qualified teachers with enhanced DBS and safeguarding training
-Tailored to each learner using bespoke, multisensory resources
-Available in-person (Reading Doctor Reading Room) or online
-Supported by baseline and exit assessments with termly reporting
