Ribston Students Celebrate GCSE Success on Results Day 🎉

A huge congratulations to all our students on their GCSE results!

It was wonderful to welcome students and families into school today to celebrate their achievements and discuss their next steps.

We are delighted that so many students will be joining us in Sixth Form and look forward to welcoming them back as Year 12 students in September 🎓✨

With GCSE Results Day tomorrow, we know it can be a stressful time for students and their families. We'd like to wish all students the very best of luck🍀

Students and staff at Ribston Hall High School are celebrating another year of excellent A-level results, with students securing places at leading universities and prestigious degree apprenticeships.

With 90% achieving the Ribston Baccalaureate and strong EPQ outcomes, the results reflect the hard work, dedication and resilience of our students, supported every step of the way by our staff and families.

Our 'Ribston Ready' Summer School was a huge success🙌💫

From team building animal marshmallows to fitness with friends, transition coping strategies with Young Minds Matter to ‘Guess who’s bag’ in History, our new students are now Ribston Ready, having made friends and gained confidence. We can’t wait to welcome Year 7 back in September!

As our new Year 7 students look ahead to the start of their Ribston journey, we would also like to wish our Year 13 students the very best of luck on A-Level Results Day tomorrow as they take their next steps towards an exciting future.

We're thrilled to be taking part in the Summer Book Club run by Book Clubs in Schools, with all new Year 7 students encouraged to read 'Secrets of the Snakestone' by Piu DasGupta over the holidays.

🏆 Earn House Points and win prizes! Complete one of the following activities for house points, with a prize awarded for the most imaginative entry in each house:

1️⃣ Write a newspaper report about the arrest and escape of Madame Malaise.
2️⃣ Create a piece of artwork (2D or 3D) showing what you think the Snakestone looks like.
3️⃣ Design a poster for Le Cirque Fantastique advertising some of the acts you might see there.
4️⃣ Write a review of The Poison Café using the description in Chapter 18.
5️⃣ Draw a picture of how you imagine Zelie might look and write a character description of her.

🥾🌟 Celebrating Our Duke of Edinburgh's Award Achievers! 🌟🥾

As we approach the end of the academic year, we would like to congratulate all of our students who have successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh's Award this year.

Their commitment, resilience and determination throughout the programme has been outstanding, and they should be incredibly proud of all they have achieved. 👏

We would also like to wish our Gold Award participants the very best of luck as they head to Scotland this week with Mr Waters for their qualifying expedition.

Taking on the challenge of canoeing the Great Glen, they will put their skills, teamwork and resilience to the test in what promises to be an unforgettable experience.

We hope they enjoy every moment, make lasting memories and complete a safe, successful and rewarding expedition. 🚣‍♀️🏞️

Information about enrolling in next year's Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme will be shared during the Autumn Term, including details for current Year 8 students interested in starting their Bronze Award, as well as students looking to progress to Silver or Gold.

⚡🏭 Year 10 Explore Energy from Waste at Javelin Park ♻️🔋

Around 30 of our Year 10 students visited the 'Energy from Waste' facility at Javelin Park, near Gloucester last week, to deepen their understanding of energy resources, electricity generation and environmental issues.

The visit began with an informative presentation and Q&A session before students enjoyed a fascinating tour of the site. Highlights included watching lorries unload waste, seeing huge mechanical claws transfer materials, viewing the inside of the boiler through safety windows, and learning how transformers safely distribute generated electricity to homes and businesses.

It was a hugely informative experience that brought classroom learning to life. While it was a little smelly in places, students embraced the day with enthusiasm and particularly enjoyed donning their PPE gear despite the heat! 😊

✨🍫 Enrichment Week Update 🌳🐞

🍫✨ Our Year 7 students thoroughly enjoyed their day at Cadbury World, making the most of every activity on offer. From indulging in delicious chocolate and creating their own chocolate-themed art to experiencing the exciting 4D show and exploring the gift shop, there was something for everyone. To top it all off, plenty of free chocolate was collected along the way!

🌳🐞 They also ventured to Robinswood Hill in search of materials to create bug hotels. Back at school, the students put their creativity to work, designing and building five-star accommodation for Ribston’s insects. It was a wonderful opportunity to get out and about in nature and participate in some creative activities.
