Learning About Remembrance Day

This week we spent time learning about Remembrance Day and helping the children understand, in a gentle and age-appropriate way, what it means.
We talked together about how Remembrance Day is a time to think about and thank the people who helped keep us safe, both in the past and today. The children were encouraged to share their thoughts and ask questions, and we were so proud of how thoughtful and respectful they were.

To build on our discussions, we took part in some creative activities. The children enjoyed making their own poppies, exploring different materials, colours, and textures. Many of them also chose to draw their own poppy fields, using their imaginations to create bright, beautiful artwork inspired by what we had talked about.

It was a lovely opportunity for the children to learn, reflect, and express their ideas through creativity.

🩹💚 A HUGE thank you to the amazing team from St John Ambulance, including the brilliant Cadets and Badgers, for visiting us and delivering such a fun and interactive first aid session! 🙌

Our children had a fantastic time learning lifesaving skills — from CPR and how to use a defibrillator, to mastering the art of bandaging like pros! 🧠💪

They were confident, curious and completely engaged – we may have a few future paramedics in the making! 🚑💫
